🌿 Nestled in the beautiful landscapes of North Idaho, Cedar Mountain Herb School is one of the longest-running herbal schools in the Pacific Northwest. For over 38 years, we’ve been dedicated to providing the highest quality herbal education — rooted in holistic health practices, natural living, and a vitalistic approach to healing.

At the heart of our school is Suzanne Tabert, bioregional herbalist, wildcrafter, educator, speaker, and author. With nearly four decades of experience teaching herbal medicine, Suzanne has inspired thousands of students through in-person apprenticeships, workshops, and online learning. Her teachings go far beyond “this herb is good for…” — guiding students to deeply understand plants and their effects on the body, mind, and spirit.

Suzanne’s lifelong passion for the natural world began at the age of five, learning from her Great Aunt Mary. That early mentorship grew into a lifelong mission to preserve and share the art of plant medicine. As Director of Herbal Education at Cedar Mountain Herb School and an adjunct professor at Bastyr University for 12 years, Suzanne has trained generations of herbalists in wildcrafting, phytochemistry, medicine making, and holistic wellness.

A sought-after speaker, Suzanne has presented at major conferences including the Pacific Northwest Herbal Fair, International Herb Symposium, and Northwest Herb Symposium. Her work has appeared in Mountain Rose Herbs, United Plant Savers, Willow and Sage Magazine, AromaCulture Magazine, and many more publications. She is a proud member of the American Herbalists Guild, the American Herb Association, and a Partner in Education with United Plant Savers.

Suzanne’s books, Quest for Calm and Wild & Beautiful, reflect her personal healing journey and decades of mentoring students — many of whom have gone on to create their own thriving herbal businesses and schools. Her warmth and authenticity foster a strong sense of community and connection wherever she teaches.
