Best interview so far in the Macrosoft world, as I replatform my ancient DBA ass to a place where I'm the Alta Kocker. Four month gig, but worth it to get my feets wet in MS. Competitive position, so won't know immediately.

Gonna Put the 2nd Anniversary Gift
to good use tonight. That gift is booze, given my my girlfriend, still downstate. Uncork the Bellevidere and let the martoonis flow as Oblanga fucks up again on the debate.
Things still shooting off in a million directions here. Abandon the SQL life and just get by until ??? or update the technology. Getting back to T-SQL I'm gonna update. Can't keep my DBA fingers off that stuff!

Two Weeks In
and so far so good. Girlfriend was with me this weekend, and no bad scene. Beginning to look around for work, and haven't gone broke so far. Was at a VP Debate party with local Repubs last week. Lotsa fun watching BiteMe go nuts, as expected. Finances look OK enough that I could slack off to plans C or even D jobwise, if needed. Still want to be CaptainSQL. Anyways, it is good to have my ass out of the heart attack machine.

But I have a different take.
We need to take the worst statements of both candidates at face value.
Oblamaramadingdong, or worthless President, really believes that there is no property. Nobody built a goddam thing for themselves. To him, all for the state, and the state above all.
RumKnee said 47% are bums. Forbes magazine, that Red Rag, says that given all entitlements, breaks and taxes, it's 97%. OK. So you suddenly get a clown boss, and you're on yerass a month later. Used to be an updstanding citizen. Now yerabum, and alwayz wuz.
Well, both really suck. The screamers on both sides have had their way. Obama goddam well means it, and every fuckbrained idea your hippie relatives could ever dream of. And they are becoming a mandatory part of your life.
Romney's saving grace is he was probably lip-synching some asshole and doesn't mean you are literally a worthless p-o-s. He didn't rule that way in Assachusetts. Probably won't in real life either.
And for those of the GOPurist persuasion, it that's not good enough for ya, I recommend hawking your pure philosophy at E. 55th and Central.

OK. Cat is at the house along with critical documents and meds. Another trip to clear out furniture at least. Still planning on seeing my gal downstate, but boy is she steaming mad about returning to my house. Not happy about that. She saw this shit unfold, and the bad sleeping probs. But always seems to put fuel on the fire. This may not last, and it may not be a bad thing if it didn't.

A final job interview for in-house this afternoon, then back to the last day of work tomorrow. Sleep is still assisted, but doing a lot better as the crazy holiday/moving/interview rat-race winds down. Next monday brings the important stuff home, then a couple more trips and I shovel off in search of con-sulting. Figure not likely to go in house at this age and skill set.
Or, see if they needs a cranky greeter at WallyWorld being built at the end of the street.

L'Shana Tova to all that remain reading this thing.
Now at about 1 month of bad sleep problems attendant with the move back to CleveBurg, worries about finding a job. Makes a move fucking complicated, since I'm going to be making trips up and down I-71.
Last day at the old POS is this Friday. Monday I move the cat, meds, documents and TV home. Then a week later furniture goes.
Last few days at work and last month of sleep probs really hit home that staying even one more week would have been a much worse disaster.
What a pain this is. At least I got the daughter through college. Graduation and wedding next spring.
