I was talking to a panhandler today and he told me he just bought black and yellow air jordans. I had never seen black and yellow air jordans and they looked great on him and he said he’d been walking into stores and felt some magnetic attraction to the same black and yellow air jordans and then he found the shoes at a pawn shop for 225 bucks? That doesn’t sound like a pawn? That sounds like a Queen bee, black and yellow Queen Bee like his beautiful air jordans and god damn do we need bees more than ever for pollination and the planet and what not.

I keep the bar on a table with flowers painted on it, right beside a Brewers baseball cap and to the left of the soap and the table and the hat is an outlet of some sort, maybe the cable tv, maybe the phone, maybe both, but the whole thing seems incredible like how did we humans come up with love and all of this?

I mean these writers are love junkies and they won’t stop until absolute surrender and only the cruelest cynic can refuse their efforts and if there are any regrets for that first kiss and talks of muses and inspiration so far from traffic jams and slush on work pants and dead ends, then there is a second kiss and the rain drops from an alley rooftop and a dead dove and a rat crawling cocksure out of a puddle on the very puddle that these lovers are looking at and seeing and the writer and the object of desire are no longer the writer and the object of desire, they are observers of some cosmic creation and I’m naked and alone and poor, but at least I have the memory of that love I surrendered all to and i will do it all over again and so I take alleys whenever I get the chance.
