    – I never met Diane in person, but I was always impressed by her willingness to dive in and help get things done. I’ll miss that willingness to help and her always insightful suggestions.

  • Nancy J. Cohen

    – I’d known Diane for many years through Florida MWA and she was always sweet, kind, and generous. She liked cats, ghosts and bee keeping. As a member of Booklovers Bench and a friend, she’ll be sorely missed. Rest in peace, Diane. Your absence will be felt and your memory cherished.

  • Debra H. Goldstein

    – Before we became blogmates, Diane and I were on several conference panels. She was smart and always on point. We bonded in our respect for how difficult writing a good cozy mystery is and our belief that MWA should separately recognize the genre. When I was on the MWA national board, Diane and I worked together to draft a cozy award proposal. We batted ideas and statistics back and forth until we had our final submission. Diane will be remembered for many things, but one lasting thing is the framework of the now existent MWA Lilian Jackson Braun Award.

    – Diane was a true firecracker! She was bright, joyful, and unforgettable. Time spent with her was always filled with laughter, and she attracted good company, especially at writer events where her spark lit up every room. Her remarkable creativity and generous organizational talents strengthened every group she touched. She leaves a space that can never be filled, and I will miss her.

  • Maggie Toussaint

    – Diane was a leader in so many areas, it’s hard to highlight her presence with us briefly. However, her amazing blurb reshaping always blew me away. She knew just how to massage the text to fit the genre and craft something that readers couldn’t put down. She was the Queen of Blurbs and a truly wonderful friend.

  • Lois Winston

    – I never had the pleasure and honor of meeting Diane in person, but after I joined Booklover’s Bench five and a half years ago, I quickly came to appreciate everything about her. She became a dear cyber-friend, always there for her fellow Benchies, and will be sorely missed.
