Established on January 1, 2010, Bacha Khan Medical College is located in Sheikh Maltoon Town, Mardan. Named after the visionary leader and freedom fighter Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan (Bacha Khan), the college reflects his enduring legacy of service, education, and social reform.
BKMC is proud to be the first public-sector medical college in Pakistan to earn recognition from the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) in its inaugural year. Since its inception, the college has been affiliated with Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar, ensuring academic excellence and rigorous standards.
In 2011, the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) accredited MMC Teaching Hospital for postgraduate training in major clinical specialties, further strengthening BKMC’s role as a hub for medical education, research, and advanced clinical training.
