I used to keep the decorations up way into January, mostly because I was too lazy to take them down, but now, after a month of their being up, I find I lose the thrill and see only clutter. Oh, well . . .
Only 5 more days of January!!

So my January feels like it’s only just begun. Even so, can’t wait for it to end.

I’m sorry about your dog. I hope he gets well soon. Take care of both of you.

Mon, 26 Jan 2026 15:25:07 +0000https://bertramsblog.com/?p=24919#comment-169405Agreed this month is forever. February has to be better. It really doesn’t help that we have such cold. My little dog jumped down from the bed last night and hurt his leg. So I do have to walk more slowly to give him a little relief. Of course, that makes me colder and I am in misery. Too used to Hawaii and CA. Have a good day.

Thank you! Okay, I won’t apologize. It does feel good to be back here blogging every day, even if I do feel as if I could be alienating people, but still, I don’t have that many constant readers like you anymore after my long hiatus, and, as you pointed out, it’s more for me, a repository of my thoughts. And I suppose talking about Wheel of Time is a lot less distancing than talking about the “issues” of the day.

Sun, 25 Jan 2026 17:06:52 +0000https://bertramsblog.com/?p=24845#comment-169401I don’t think any apology is needed. Blogs by their very nature are journal-like postings, expressing personal insights and opinions. And like any conversation, not every person will choose to join in.
I don’t have an interest in WHEEL OF TIME, haven’t read it, so can’t provide any legitimate comments on the topic. That doesn’t mean you should tailor yours to suit me, or apologize for them. I’m not obliged to read topics that don’t interest me (although I still read yours because I like to see what you have to say, even if I don’t have a response).
I can understand that it’s disappointing not to find someone, or a group, that will engage in meaningful discussion with you, but I think there can be benefit, satisfaction, in just expressing your opinions here. It that vein your blog serves like a diary for you…a repository for your thoughts…and that’s a valid purpose. 🙂
