To those who are curious about this comment from Mr. Crawford, please note that I have never met Mr. Crawford, I am not related to him, and he did not attempt to contact me via any private means, available via multiple mutual acquaintances, before posting this here. I am extremely discrete in posting about health conditions and genetics and will post on my blog about my personal experiences (as is my right), and my child (also my right, though it is my personal practice to clear things with him) and would never name another individual and connect them with a disorder without consent and I would still obscure their identity. Should anyone feel the need to point to themselves that is not my problem. Reveal yourself at your own risk but don’t blame the person who was, in a more private setting than this blog, merely sharing information about herself and her child and general information about the disorder. If you, or someone we both know, feels the need to raise their hand and declare “me me me me”, that is their problem and not mine. If a disorder is hereditary in nature, one may hazard guesses as to other relations who may gave it, and those relationships are generic labels. If Mr. Crawford is aware of another party in such a relationship that does not mean I have disclosed anything about anyone except me, myself, and possibly, I. I take privacy and security very seriously and it was defamatory of Mr. Crawford to suggest otherwise. Mr. Crawford’s comments remain here as an example of a troll in libelous glory and I meant to address them sooner, but my life and my genes got in the way. So read what he wrote, ask questions if you would like. Read up on defamation, telecommunications laws, HIPAA and NEMA, (the latter two do not even remotely apply to anything on my blog, or the numerous venues he has accused me of sharing private information) . Read up on journalism and ethical practices (phrases which are sadly looking like strange bedfellows in this era, but still may hang out with some of the good journalists.). xo, b.
