Athena’s Mom

I’m Athena’s Mom.   I am in my early 30s and live in New York (or as my father calls it “not Chicago”).  I have a career, opinions, friends, foibles, insecurities and a dark sense of humor.

The name “Athena’s Mom” is a reference to the fact that in Greek Mythology, the goddess Athena did not have a mother (if you believe interpretations of the Eumenides)–if you recall, she emerged fully grown from Zeus’s forehead.

I have blogged semi-anonymously under this name since 2003, but have unpublished most of my earlier blog postings, reducing the amount of cringe-inducing juvenalia on the World Wide Web by 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000001%.

And yes, that is the first bullet-pointed accomplishment listed on my resume.

I now mostly blog lists, links, quick observations and musings about pop-culture and city life.
