A very quick post. I'm spending the weekend with my aunty and her two kids at the weekend. they live in sunderland and it's along way away! I hate car journeys. Be good fun though. My Dad is driving us all up there. Best thing is we've still got Christmas presents to exchange.
Just wanted to say thanks diabetes oc, you've made me feel very welcome.
A diabetes update: my sugar is 9.5mmol 170 (us) which is good because i had a huge unexplained hypo this morning and i ended up eating way too many carbs to get it back up again. I had iced gems, I love them so much. Followed by gummy bears and some other sweet stuff.

Newbie
Hi my name is Ashleigh.
I'm 14 years old and I have type 1 diabetes. I got it in October 01. I have been wearing an insulin pump named Bob for nearly two years. I live in London with my Dad and my brother Jay. My Mum sadly died while having Jay but Dad does a great job with us.
Dad thought I had an eating disorder when I lost 14lbs and got sick but when he took me to the Doctor they tested my water and my blood. The meter read "HI" the lab report at the hospital said I was 44mmol which is about 790 in american terms.
My Doctor is pleased with me, my latest A1C was 5.8%
I've been reading blogs from the OC for a while and thought I'd join you.
I also have 2 cats called Billy Jo and Jim Bob!
I take trampoline classes on Tuesdays and Sundays and I do ice skating classes on a Thursday.
Just a quick intro. Will post again soon. I'm at school at the moment!!!
