I looked up the Maida series- just ordered 2 of them on eBay!!!They are yellow/orange hardcovered books: Maida’s Little Shop, Maida’s Little School, etc – the dust covers that came with them are hard to find. They were written from 1910 to the early 50’s Will have to see if I have one Maida book hidden somewhere!!! I would love to have the whole series of the older editions of Nancy Drew!!! Scored most of these at a library sale, to add to the few I already had- couldn’t resist!!

I read the Bobbsey Twins and Hardy Boys too, but I never heard of Judy Bolton and Maida – seems like I have some research to do. I love old books too – no wonder I never feel I have enough time to read, I want to read everything from the last two centuries! I loved your description of that wonderful reading room.

Elizabeth, You may have to click on the title of the particular post, and then the comment box (and others’ comments) appears at the bottom of that post! I tried that, and it works!!!

I don’t know why it can’t be seen- I never changed anything!! Seth said the same, then he managed to find it, and others found a way to comment. Maybe it is not a comment “box”, but something else you have to click on? I am a big help, huh? LOL

She always had a basket full of something ….. egg plant, carrots, tomatoes, green beans, plums, pecan nuts …. roses. Love the lavender wands.
