LOSS

I saw your eyes fade out
I saw the lights go out.
Till then it was the worst
Desolate heart just burst.

I hid behind the grief
For words gave no relief
I knew that it would fade
As all things pass and fade.

Yet I just had a fair
thought I wanted to share.
Your reply was needed,
My stray thought unheeded.

So this is the new life.
Desolate future rife
With unshared ideas
And secret, sudden tears.
