I find I use this app most. It isn’t perfect, there are a few things I would change if I could so I have tried other options but I find I still fallback on this. Overall it does everything I need most and I suppose I’m used to it. But in fairness for the most part I like it and it incorporates everything I need. All of that said since the new IOS update it no longer stays open. I have been using it for years now and leave it open on my phone so I can just do the double click and choose it from the selection of open apps or just check the info I need without having to go to it full screen because I leave the month view open. Since the new update however when selecting it from my open apps it reverts to the opening screen and takes a few seconds (seems like a minutes but it isn’t) to open. It opens to my month view again but still each time I go to this app I have to go through the opening wait. This is going to become more problematic for me when for instance I am going back and forth between a couple of open apps while trying to schedule something or while talking to someone on the phone and looking up info. I don’t do this often but when I do I need it to work properly. For instance when I am attending and scheduling doctor visits with my Mom.Update; the app asked for it so here goes (it does not ask for reviews often or obnoxiously) the constant waiting for it to reopen, repopulate is still really frustrating but still using it and I wish it offered either the last thing typed or better yet often used input selection so I didn’t have to type a commonly added item each time.
I’ve used this app for a very long time, I think when it first came available on Apple if I’m not mistaken. I’ve referred countless friends and coworkers since the beginning, I was so impressed. Not many changes were made from the Calendar 5, but I could be missing it. I’ve come to rely on this calendar for so many things, even though I use a paper planner as well, this is my everyday go-to for bills, tasks, and the calendar. No, I no longer have the “receipt” from the Apple App Store, I don’t even think purchases are available for that long ago. I’ve tried the Google and Apple calendars, which are not user friendly, and options are limited. I do understand that nothing is free, but having paid for it once and now you want a yearly subscription, this is something I can’t afford. Until I find a better solution, this will be my favorite, but I’m moving on.UPDATE: I searched high and low for a receipt to no avail. I have been using this app for more than 12 years at least (although I’m going by the date I moved), but I know it’s been longer. For people who purchased the app long ago, keep us in the “old” version or at least offer it.
Hi, thank you for sharing this. Good news – you’ll still have access to Calendars 5 through your Apple account and can keep using it as usual. However, support and updates for the app will no longer be provided, and future iOS updates may affect its performance. Hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to drop us a line at helpspot@readdle.com so we could help you. Best wishes, Illia.
I’m a college student hoping to stay organized and on top of things with this calendar. I never had a problem with this app before but ever since this new update or so.. it’s been faulty. For example, I had a math assignment due on Tuesday given to me on Thursday so when I wrote in the description of Tuesday the math assignment problems I was assigned and due on that day, I expected them to be there when I started my homework during the end of the weekend but to my surprise the description ended up blank and I did not know what I was assigned for that date. This has happened to me twice now. Another instance of faulty dates: Netflix likes to give trailers and release dates of when they are going to be releasing their content. There was this horror movie I wanted to watch on the release date on the 18th so I set a reminder to watch the movie. Surprisingly enough, I was really excited for the movie that on the 18th I did end up watching it without anyone telling me to do so. But now that it’s the new week I’m seeing the reminder I set on the 18 all the way on the 22nd ?? What is up with that?? This has gotten really scary for me since I’m really bad with dates and I’ve set up some doctor appointments soon in which I’ve had to look over just to make sure their punctual now. I’m not going to risk putting anymore important information on this app if it’s not working to remind me on the date and time I need it to remind me. Therefore I resign my use of this app and looking elsewhere.
I loved this app until Google bought it. Now I get appts scheduled on my calendar for two-3 weeks of one single appointment. Then I have to send a response to whoever is advertising, that I’m not going. These are spam email senders whom I have never had any contact with and would block if they had ever sent anything to my email. Somehow they can still set appointments on this calendar, which never happened before Google bought it. It’s ridiculous and irritating! ! Today there were three of them, Plus a one day appointment from some spammer which I had to go into my email and block the sender to cancel the appointment that Google/the developer allow access. I would not get this app, as a new customer, if I knew this could happen. The reason I keep it is because it the record of appointments and notes that I’ve made on specific situation that I want records of historically - Much like I would a regular calendar. I used to use Franklin Planner, when I was still working and before some life altering medical events that forced me to stop working at 60. I became accustomed to keeping track of everything in my life in my calendar. Google said it has to be someone I’ve had contact with, but I guarantee that is not the case. Nobody should be able to access my calendar! Aside from that, and now charging me for the moon calendar - which was included in the original parchase, it’s a really good calendar. Im irritated that they want to charge extra if I want the moon phases. I think it’s a dirty business to sell you something and then change what that something is.
Hello there, thank you for sharing your feedback — we're truly sorry to hear about the frustrating experience with unwanted events cluttering your calendar! I'd like to note that Calendars is not a standalone app — it displays information from the accounts you have connected, meaning these events are most likely being injected directly into your connected calendar account rather than originating from our app. Please reach out to us at helpspot@readdle.com with more details, and include a note saying 'from AppStore' so we can identify your case quickly. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to make things right! Best, Dariia
