Ankan Bansal   Applied Science Manager Amazon AWS AI Pasadena, CA I am leading a team of Applied Scientists building GenAI and Agentic products in AWS. I received my PhD from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2020. During my PhD, I worked on visual question answering, zero-shot learning, human-object interactions, and face analysis. My advisor was Prof. Rama Chellappa. I did internships at Salesforce Einstein AI, Amazon AWS AI, and SRI International where I had the pleasure of working with several excellent researchers. My dissertation can be accessed here and my defense presentation is here. I completed my bachelor's and master's at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. I did my master's thesis on estimating number of people in images of high density crowds under Prof. K. S. Venkatesh and Prof. Laxmidhar Behera.
