Who doesn’t love a new pair of shoes? While I am not a shoe hoarder like some people, I do like to have a small variety to choose from. Imagine not even having one pair of shoes to wear. When I was in Haiti, the lady who helps run the orphanage talked about why it was important for the kids to wear shoes when they were walking on the dirt. She said that worms (I believe) can get into their feet.

Back to not having shoes….here is your opportunity to help at a very minimal cost. I did this a few years ago and so did mom. It is called Soles 4 Souls. It cost $1 to buy a pair of shoes. Ever since we moved out of downtown, I don’t go to Starbucks or really any other store that often. So I have some extra $1 hanging around. I just bought some shoes tonight.

Causes

Do you ever feel like you want a cause to believe in? To put your effort and/or money toward? I have found places to donate money to before and felt like they were a good cause. Yet none that kept me coming back. I believe that God has been putting certain blogs in my path.

Here is one blog that I would recommend checking out. Kristen and her husband have a heart to open a Mercy House for pregnant women in Africa. You can donate money or buy from Etsy stores that donate all the proceeds to them.

The other one I found tonight through Kristen’s website is hosted by her sister. Into the streets of Ethiopia is about a family’s journey to help the youth in Ethiopia. There are donations of money, money for formula, or buying a t-shirt that goes to feeding kids.
