Unlike some other reviewers, my case fits perfectly. After all, they do offer different cases for the various iPads. Simply order the one specifically made for your iPad model.

As for the zipper, my first case (iPad mini) did have zipper issues...only one end and simply because I used that specific zipper head every time. Once it failed, I just used the other head more gently. No problems since then.

My current case, 9.7” iPad Pro, has been a dream. Zipper heads are great. Has protected my device quite nicely. Best if at least zipped a little when not in use as it holds the screen cover in place in case should it take a tumble.

The exterior leather has scratched up a bit but this simply adds character. The case leather feels good to the touch as well. A very tactile pleasing item.

There is also an Apple Pen holder located at the inside spine. Fabric elastic bit and then approximately 1.5” lower is a leather tip pocket. (I have added a pen to the spot, in the first photo, simply as a reference.)

I have recommended this case to friends and family and will continue to do so. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love TwelveSouth's products. I had already had the previous version for my old iPad (now my wife's) and got this newer version for the new iPad (not the iPad Air). It fixes the few quibbles I had with the earlier version and makes for a much more secure way to carry the device.

Security aside, the main reason to get one of these is the aesthetic - the look, feel and smell of real leather. With the old one I constantly had people asking me what book I was reading. Once you've unzipped it the cat's out of the bag though.

With the older unit, tenting the BookBook for a viewing angle was accomplished with a leather tether which always seemed to be in the way. The newer version really encases the iPad in multi-layer security without obstructing any of the controls or ports.

If you want sleek and modern, this isn't your iPad case. If, on the other hand, you have sensibilities that fondly recall the feel of a bound volume in your hands...... You're going to love this case.

I purchased this for my IPad Pro 9.7 2016. I know this is not the product it is listed for, but i wanted to test out the durability and quality of the brand before investing a lot of money into the correct case (which is more expensive) so far I am very happy with the quality! I love the natural leather look, yes it has some little scratches on it (from me using it) but that just adds to its character in my opinion.

So far I haven’t had any issues with the zipper as some users have found.

I feel the quality is excellent and I will be purchasing the correct case in the future. I like the snaps inside that hold the IPad part in place when you want it to stay out. Or you can un-snap it to set up the iPad landscape style for watching movies, etc. I’m a very satisfied customer! (I can even tuck my Apple Pencil to the side of the iPad)

The zipper broke after a month, now the case is on my 3 year olds ipad and does well protecting it. The cover is pretty well weighted and It closes really nicely and stays closed without being zipped. Not a huge fan of the leather material they used to physically hold ipad in the case, it feels really cheap. That said its doing its job and I know the ipad isnt going to fall out. The exterior of this case is very nice, with excellent painted details and high quality leather. Its doing a decent job but I cant say I would spend $80 bucks on it again.

This is such a great iPad cover/protection. First of all it is just plain FUN! It absolutely looks like a real old book and its made out of great material! I chose this item over others because of the tough outer layer with the hard covered leather. It also zips completely up to protect it from any splashes, dirt, scrapes etc. Perfect! The look was the icing on the cake. It actually makes me feel better when I work on my front steps. We have some "not so nice" people who live across the way (I live in a condo) so the little bit of the Book Book disguise makes me feel better, like I can take a little break outside for a bit without it screaming that I have an iPad. I use a stylus so I'm hoping it looks like I'm sketching in a sketchbook or journaling.

I've dropped my iPad once with it wrapped in the Book Book. It fell from my table onto the wood floor. I could tell by the way it sounded when it landed that it was probably going to be ok...just a light thud, no SMASH! It was fine! My iPad never leaves the Book Book!

Just one thing to mention. The leather does scratch and stain...I love it that way as it makes it look more worn. But for those who may like it as it comes in the mail...maybe you can use a protective spray to prevent this?

It's adorable and goes perfectly with my 12 South BOOK BOOK case for MacPro. The zippers are smooth and snag free. However, it is NOT all leather. The inside although it seems to secure the iPad pretty well is made of synthetic leather and has a plasticky smell to it. There are two snaps behind that hold it flat to the back. If you're going to watch it in landscape mode as a stand, you unsnap it and it hangs down and the part that is connected to the cover seems pretty thin and overtime, I'm concerned that it will wear out/ rip/ tear. Also if you try to fold the cover behind itself to hold it portrait style, it's pretty tight and I'm also concerned that it will wear out quickly too as the leather on the cover doesn't seem that thick. It's a steep price for it and I'm at least glad I got it for less than list price.

Very beautiful cover but the zipper failed in less than a year. Twelve south replaced it since it was under the one-year warranty. The zipper on the replacement failed again in less than a year, but this time around twelvesouth told me they couldn't replace since their warranty states that the replacement assumes the remainder of the original product or 90 days from the date of replacement. Their solution: "our customers have had success taking it to a shoe repair shop to get it fixed". Really? at $79. Don't take me wrong it is a nice case, but their zipper is cheap and it WILL fail. They know this issue when they mention the shoe repair shop. You have been warned.

I absolutely LOVE this case. It's durable and strong and does a great job of protecting my iPad (which I need because I am a klutz with butter fingers). The design is great--not only does it feel more like I'm reading a real book, but when most people see it they don't realize that I have a valuable piece of technology in it, they think I just have an old book. :)

It can be a bit annoying to take the iPad out to clean it...it isn't hard by any means, just takes a little time. You can prop the screen up at a few different angles for better viewing. It doesn't always feel super secure in some of the positions, but I had it propped up while on a plane that had significant turbulence and it never once fell over.

Quality cover that's well made and build to last. I definitely recommend this, you won't be disappointed!

La custodia é molto bella , gradevole al tatto ed è sopratutto di vera pelle. Lo comprata per l’ipad da 12.9 pollici di prima generazione e avendone provate molte altre prima di questa devo dire che questa è sicuramente la più bella. All’interno della custodia c’è un rivestimento di moquette che lo rende gradevole al tatto e alla vista, senza contare il resto delle rifiniture che sono veramente ottime. Sicuramente la ricomprerò in futuro se cambierò questo iPad con un altro di nuova generazione.

Un artículo de alta calidad que imita la forma y acabado de un libro antiguo. Allá donde la llevo llama la atención y el iPad va protegido gracias al cierre de cremallera doble. Puede parecer un poco incómodo al principio el tener que abrir y cerrar la cremallera pero a la larga es mucho mejor. El iPad 3 encaja a la perfección. Para el iPad Air puede servirte para un transporte ocasional, pero se sale pues es más fino y acaba escapándose de la sujeción.

El material es cuero y se gasta y araña con el uso, aumentando el carácter añejo de la funda. La compañía acaba de lanzar (marzo 2014) la funda equivalente para iPad Air.

Really love this case. I'm not usually a fan of kitschy design or novelty items, but this case is actually a very solid performer despite the olde-worlde appearance. The fit is a little tight but, once the iPad is in the case it really is lovely. Folding the case for drawing requires the inner cover (suede/microfibre) to rest on the table, not the best design decision, but otherwise a lovely item.

Ich hatte bereits vier Jahre lang die BookBook-Hülle für mein iPad 3 in Benutzung. Selbst nach so vielen Jahren ist diese immer noch intakt. Sie hat lediglich ein bisschen intensiver diesen Usedlook angenommen. Genau das lieeeeebe ich :-)

Deshalb habe ich mir die Hülle nun für das iPad Pro 12.9 gekauft. Denn gerade wegen der Größe von 12.9 Zoll war es mir zu unsicher, das Gerät in ein günstigeres Modell zu stecken. Ich gebe aber zu, dass ich es zunächst mit einer "Billighülle" probiert habe ;-)

Nur habe ich das iPad dann trotzdem getragen wie den heiligen Gral, denn ich hatte ständig Angst, dass mir das Gerät aus den Händen gleitet.

Jetzt, wo ich das BookBook drum habe, fühle ich mich total sicher. Denn das iPad "lebt" ja doch irgendwie. Ich schleppe es in verschiedene Räume, es steht bei mir auf dem Fußboden, wenn ich Sportkurse online mache und und und. Da muss ich einfach ein sicheres Gefühl haben, dass mir das Gerät nicht aus den Händen rutscht.

In dieser Hülle ist nun innen auch noch eine Halterung für den Pencil angebracht. Noch habe ich keinen, aber man weiß ja nie, was noch so kommt. Die Spitze des Stiftes steckt dann in einer Lederlasche und das obere Ende wird mit einem robusten Gummiband festgehalten.

Die "Standhalterung" ist (wie beim Vorgängermodell) sehr stabil.

Insgesamt ist das BookBook supergut verarbeitet und vor allem schaut es natürlich klasse aus! Gerade wenn man, wie ich, buchaffin ist.

Für mich die bestes Hülle auf dem Markt, die ich für alle Geräte dieser Art immer wieder nutzen würde. Top!!

I bought this after buying, and been very happy with, the BookBook iPhone case.

This iPad case is a thing of wonder. It looks beautiful and protects the iPad very well indeed.

In use, it has two positions as a stand - the 'low rise' position for typing and watching video etc. Both work well (they use different methods of support in each case - the 'low rise' looking like it won't work, but it does).

I probably would not buy this, though, if I constantly used the rear-facing camera on the iPad because it is a bit of a faff doing so with this case. You can do it, but it is a faff.

The case looks beautiful, is so well made, protects the iPad very well and is the envy of other iPad users who have seen me use it.

Can you tell I love it?
