Here are 50 things you probably don’t care to know about me, but I thought I’d list them anyway… just in case. Actually, the list is not yet complete, but I’ll add to it as I go.
- I love animals and have two pets; a huge Warlock Doberman named Alex and a teeny silver teacup poodle named Zach. We call him Zachy-pooh.
- My family typically has only one girl per generation. I am it for mine. I have 5 siblings and 8 cousins, and they are all male.
- I am athletic as opposed to girly girl, and am more comfortable with men than women.
- Everyone in my family has blue eyes and blonde hair (of some shade), and is extremely tall (even the girls); I have red hair and green eyes, and am only 5 feet tall. Which leads me to believe I was adopted.
- I’ve only had my hair short twice in my entire lifetime. Normally, it is down to my waist.
- I bathe religiously once a week; but I shower every single day.
- Math is not my thing. I could never wrap my brain around fractions and such.
- I love to scrapbook; it goes really well with my love of photography.
- For the past 4 years (since 2004), I’ve been taking Tai Chi (and absolutely love it).
- I hold a black belt in Tae Kwan Do, working on my second degree.
- In 1978, I had New Year’s dinner with Tommy Smothers at a French restaurant in Dallas.
- Every night I wait till my husband is asleep and then I sneak up to my office and play on the computer or surf the Net until the wee hours of the morning. I only need about 3 hours of sleep a day; he needs 8.
- I also don’t need much food. I typically eat about one meal a day. But I snack a lot at night, which is probably a bad thing to do.
- I am a diabetic and am doing alright with it. It’s not the end of the world.
- I took 14 years of piano, but ended up loving and playing the drums really well. The theory thing with the piano — it was beyond my scope of comprehension. Even the nuns who taught me gave up on me long before I did.
- I smoke, but only while I’m at the computer. I should probably quit, but then, what would I do while I was typing or surfing?
- As a teenager, I surfed. I’m a strong swimmer, and surfing was really in back then (late 60’s), so I took up the sport and discovered I was good at it.
- Except for surfing, I don’t care for sports of any type. I especially have an aversion to being a spectator at any event. Bo-ring!
- I home schooled my daughter to save her from the bad kids in high school.
- I have a son who turned out really, truly bad, and I have no idea where he is. I’m actually afraid that one day he’ll come looking for me. If he’s alive.
- I received my Juris Doctor degree from SMU in Dallas. But I practiced law for only a short while.
- I went on to college and majored in English and Psychology.
- I skipped a grade in grade school and then again another grade in high school. Ended up graduating at the age of 15.
- I’m fluent in four languages; English, Spanish, French and Italian.

Your qualifications are outrageous (the languages, the karate, the law degree — yeesh!). I’m convinced life is sometimes more difficult for really smart people who actually think about what they’re doing, which translates to the agoraphobia and social fears.
I agree with you completely on the sports spectator thing. Yuk. But you’re actually an athlete, which I am not. I actually kicked someone in the head the first time I took an aerobics course. Humiliating.
The son thing is what jumps out at me, a story waiting to be written. As well as the Tommy Smothers event. How does that even happen???
Wowwwzza. All that and you don’t know German?
Psh . . what kinda Woman are you? 🙂
Love it. Love the list.
Can’t wait to see more!

I would LOVE to have a Warlock. We’ve had Dobe’s (hence, my moniker) since I was a wee lad. I have an old girl now who is ten and she’s the sweetest thing. When she’s gone, I don’t know if CareerMom will let me get another.
Funny story, from one Dobe lover to another: When my Knikki was 2, I took her to a dog show up in Ohio and we had been walking around for a while and it was getting warm. I walked her over near a trailer and there was a great big male Dobe lying under it in the shade. My Knikki crawled right up under there and just threw herself at his feet. She’s never done that again since.
OK, I admit, it’s probably a lot cuter to me…
Where is the other 26? 😉
Well, Josh, duh! When you have 24 “Things About Me” that are THIS cool, you don’t need the other 26!
You are a fascinating person, Allison!!
(I love that your pups are A-Z !)
