I have just finished reading “Volunteer for Glory” and cannot tell you how I enjoyed the story. It is beautifully written by a true craftsman. The songs are woven in to enhance both the mood and the time. I enjoyed the book as much for the history as for the plot, which is riviting. I can smell the smoke of battle and hear the whistle of cannon balls.
This story should be made into a movie. It is a classic.
Helen, thank you for wonderful review of Volunteer for Glory! Knowing you have enjoyed reading this gives me great pleasure. Thank you again and one day, I hope to give an equally warm review to your historical novel.
