[…] During week five I was critical of the proof the instructor gave for a certain result (taken from this paper). Also, it is noticed how ultrafilters play an important role in many of the impossibility theorems of social choice theory (incl Arrow’s Thm). […]

Proof of lemma about stable collective choice is incorrect. Starting from the words “now, by the hypothesis of this theorem” there is an incorrect statement, because actually there’s no restriction on \pi’ profile for elements except x and y. So as a set \phi^{xy}(\pi) can have zero intersection with \phi^{xy}(\pi) in case when some voters change their opinion completely.

I’m doing great. thanks. I was just spending too much time disagreeing with the admins, trying to mod by other people’s grudges and white-knighting some TR people. I’ve never followed orders or done hypocrisy well so I bailed again. I’d tell you more but if I did that in public I’d probably start a shitstorm :). If you’re the gossipy type feel free to email me.

Your blog looks so fascinating! I wish I had time to read it now!
I’ve bookmarked it and can’t wait to get back to it although I know I won’t completely understand it.

Oddly enough this all made sense to me after I read it a few times even though I had no idea of what most of the formula symbols meant and didn’t bother looking them up. That was pretty cool 🙂

Now I’ll stop messing up your serious blog with crap that you’ll have to delete.

I found you via your realistic comment about the Roma at secularcafe.org. I’ve been searching for other left-wing, atheist, secular types who have NOT jumped on the do-gooder-I’m-more-liberal-and-tolerant-than-thou bandwagon. I am so dismayed to see how many of my fellow atheists enjoy saying nasty things about the pope but love to defend Islamic totalitarianism.
