Ninja Giden 4, where do I even start? haha. Who needs me to go over the in-depth evaluations of the parry, block, guard and other nifty technical mechanics-based things brought into the latest entry?, there is more than enough about that out there already and the game hasn’t even officially released yet ๐คญ๐๐.
Right up front, I must say, I am very compelled by the rivalry aspect and the adversarial component to the game which proposes the surreal build-up to the ultimate showdown. They tried something like this in Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z but at some point it’s as if production went, “no, it’s too good, lets water it down; there needs to be this new/mass audience appeal” ๐ ๐. NAHโผ๏ธโผ๏ธ when you are making a game like this especially one in a franchise that is well respected and legendary like Ninja Gaiden, you are supposed to be giving it everything you’ve got to make sure it’s done as exceptional as possible, you don’t water it down to appeal to a wider audience, it doesn’t work like that. If you were to take a look at some of the earliest alpha footage of Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, you’d notice that the game had a slightly different feel, it was going in a really #sik direction, it was going to be the Ninja Gaiden 4 of it’s time; that is exactly what it was going to be, then it’s like the game got drastically “converted” so that it won’t feel too much like a Ninja Gaiden game, but that’s just it, it is supposed to feel ninja gaiden-like because it has the d.n.a of the Ninja Gaiden franchise, and the way I see it, it would have been interesting to see a Japanese studio build a story around Yaiba, who was supposed to be a sloppy ninja, but as close to a ninja as you can get alternatively speaking in this franchise, encountering zombies and the mayhem that naturally develops, as far as the perspective from a japan studio that is really good at making action games, is concerned. But the key wasn’t to water it down, the key is to “modify” and make “adjustments” — don’t water it down because with the dynamic power of creativity, that’s rarely necessary is games. You’re supposed to give it all you’ve got; don’t force a dumbed down version of a game just to appeal to a mass audience, this is an illusion you really don’t know if this is going to work and, in fact, based off of statistics, that actually doesn’t really work within the context of taking a franchise that is known for certain things and making something that just looks the part, and promises the part but doesn’t have the feel and ultimately doesn’t deliver up to its greater potential ๐๐๐

I really like the idea of having Yakumo as one of the actual main stars in the game, because he is introduced as a fresh new character but at the same time Ryu (and possibly others) is also going to be playable, and this is what’s so unique about Ninja Gaiden 4; very rarely do you get to experience these games from the lens of adventure at both sides of the spectrum, and in this case, you are going to get to see what the adventure and the story is like from both Yakumo’s perspective and Ryu’s perspective, and I really like that kind of unconventional experimental approach if you will, because that’s not something that is done in most games outside of the masterpiece that is Devil May Cry with the whole Nero, Virgil and Dante dynamics, and perhaps a rare few other games, since most games have their own thing going on, but that’s what places Ninja Gaiden 4 in a very unique position. In Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z you get to sort of experience things from Yaiba’s perspective who is sort of like the long-time rival of Ryu where Ryu is actually the main star of the main Ninja Gaiden series games, but in Ninja Gaiden 4 you are presented with the opportunity to have a sort of what-if into both perspectives in playable fashion which is exceptional for a game of this caliber; that is actually a big deal and it just fits right in naturally ๐๐ฅท๐ฅ.

I am all for having random appearances of notable characters from other franchises, show up in Ninja Gaiden if it’s going to be this kickass — why stop at Metal Gear Revengance?, put Mario, Donkey Kong, Street Fighter’s Akuma, and Asura’s Wrath, all in this revolution too โผ๏ธ๐คฃ๐คฃ; take this formula to the next level — yeah lets not be lame and appeal to the same old status-quo LOL. Now of course I am exaggerating alot about the Mario and Donkey Kong possibilities, and you can probably sense that I am joking, but the core point is still the same — epic action like this is borderline “you got to see to believe” epic levels of captivation ๐๐๐.
I am interested in seeing the “story” but for me when I say “story”, it’s about what it feels like to experience the narrative in real time, I am not talking about how the story reads or something like that. With Ninja Gaiden 4, I am all about how everything comes together as an *experience; I am talking about the execution of plot design and scenarios overall ๐ก๐. I am not talking about minor petty stuff like who I thought the voice actor should be or “plot holes” in the script and so on โ๐ โ. I am talking about the build-up of anticipation and mystery and the urge to want to go on a mission and on a very exciting adventure, and get immersed into this Yakumo and Ryu rivalry/showdown and Ninja Gaiden stuff.

The ability to change difficulty and weapons at-any-time is a remarkable implementation โ๏ธ๐ฏ๐ค. From what I can make sense of about this aspect, the difficulty mode switching “seems” pretty straight forward, I am not entirely sure about all the details yet, but I assume that if you are on normal and change to easy or hero mode, it will do exactly that in real-time, or if you are in normal mode and you feel like getting more challenge and you switch to “very hard” or “master ninja”, it does so in real-time without having to exist to the main menu of the game (I think), but the only way to complete or master a specific difficulty is to actually keep the game set to one difficulty and play through the entire game on that difficulty because obviously if you are on, lets say, master ninja and you switch to normal, you will be playing though whatever stage you’re at on normal mode and not master ninja anymore since you obviously changed the mode/difficulty. So I am guessing the only way to complete the game on Master Ninja difficulty is to actually complete each stage on Master Ninja difficulty ๐ค๐ค. It seems pretty straight forward, and from what I understand, the different difficulty modes have certain settings or options available that you can adjust, turn-on or disable etc — I have to look more into this aspect, but that’s basically the gist of it ๐๐๐.


From what I have seen of the gameplay action, it is monumentally kickass ๐ฎ๐คฏ๐ฎ๐คฏ. The samples that has been shown in the demos, actually made me want to actually play the game instantly, not really in a sooner than later sense but more like a NOW or never kind of vibe ๐คฃ๐คญ๐. The boss battles were very interesting; the ones I saw so-far have been mobile, eventful and dynamic and not just basically a case where the boss is a background for almost the entire battle and just spams down a load of wide area effect moves and sends out minions, all while there is only a small window where the boss isn’t completely invincible ๐๐. I really like this kind of one vs one “arena” battle, all-out-brawl style of combat in games like this against bosses, as opposed to the common method of background boss situations, and I think with the potential that Ninja Gaiden 4 has, this formula would make for some incredible “addicting” action ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฅท. I mean Ninja Gaiden 2 did have some bosses that were brawler-like foes but the only thing with that is, with the bosses that can fly in particular, alot of the time they would just fly up and be airborne for more than half the battle, and either shoot projectiles and/or cast field hazards from a distance. Ninja Gaiden 3 is pretty much the only one that attempted to break the mold up until this point lol.

I am extremely interested in seeing how some of the settings are going to affect the game mechanically and presentation wise after it was stated and shown that Ninja Gaiden 4 will feature unique settings and a degree of configurable options that has not been seen in the series before. Folks, I want all the gaming bells and-whistles and everything that makes it look and feel as gamey as possible. I want it all on, I want my experience with this game to feel game-like, from the classic gaming hug elements to navigational cues — I am all for that and I make no apologies ๐๐๐๐ฏ. I am going to play through every single mode, all the trials, purgatory events, all the extra story content, post-game stuff, or possible DLC missions and so on. I am going to have a blast with Ninja Gaiden 4 — that is not even a question ๐ฏ๐๐คญ๐คญ.

There are some “reviews” out there (some people were actually able to get copies of the game early), or atleast that’s what would be in the titles of some of the videos when you look up Ninja Gaiden 4 on youtube, and there are some compelling things being said about it, but the problem is that, most of the time there is no actual original footage shown to correlate what is being stated to specifics in the footage so that you can see the game from the perspective of the person who is giving their thoughts, since the game isn’t actually officially released yet and most gameplay videos would be taken down, so in this case, even though the thoughts the individuals are giving, may be intriguing, there isn’t really much to go on without actual footage to match what is being said with some kind of actual gameplay reference, so it’s just all left up to your imagination which doesn’t quite do it for me โ๐ค๐๐ถโ๐ซ๏ธ. Now someone like me doesn’t really need review scores to tell me if a game is good or bad or worth my time, I obviously can do a perfect job of that myself; the real value of a review to me is so that I can learn more about what is actually in the game as opposed to hear-say and rumors, in situations where I know nothing about the game as yet, either because I am new to the franchise or the game isn’t really available to me at the moment. Reviews, just like trailers, gives me an idea of if the game is the kind of game I would like to experience for myself or not, since they reveal real tangible details, images and gameplay about the game that you can form your own opinions on, but for now, Ninja Gaiden 4 isn’t released yet, so I am just going to wait until it comes out to give it a run for myself and stay clear of the rumors, baseless speculation and blind mania that people get themselves into based on unfounded shenanigans and buffoonery ๐๐๐๐ถโ๐ซ๏ธ.


There was concern about the level/stage design and how the early stage design shown in the demos in Ninja Gaiden 4 look “uninspired” because it’s a setting where everything seems to have a uniformed industrial-facility look, and I understand concerns about this, and how anyone wouldn’t be too fussy about that kind of “theme” potentially being the standard throughout most of the game, since that kind of theme doesn’t sound all that great on the surface, after all, the improved visuals introduced in the Ninja Gaiden 2 Black remaster really took visual immersion to a whole other level ever seen in the main series of Ninja Gaiden games ๐ผ๏ธ๐จโ๐จ๐. I personally think that Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z’s art style made it the best visually appealing game to be based on the Ninja Gaiden series that came out of nowhere, it can definitely compete with Ninja Gaiden 2 Black’s enhanced graphical excellence especially if Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z was to be remastered with the help of the same newer technologies and techniques used to enhance Ninja Gaiden 2 Black’s graphics and it’s dynamic environmental aspects, but I like the fact that Ninja Gaiden 4’s stages and stage-segments feel like a fresh take, and the presentation of such fresh takes does have a next-generation edge to it that does definitely have alluring gravitas ๐ค๐๐. You can even see, despite what many may consider to be a cliche military/industrial facility theme, that the stages are quite detailed and it’s interesting to see how TeamNinja and Platinum games incorporated lighting and shadows and all that good stuff, and also the creative ideas used to make the brutal and grisly effects, believable ๐โ๏ธโ๏ธ.


I personally don’t have a problem with the militarized-base theme in the way that they did it for Ninja Gaiden 4 because it does present a fresh lure and does make me excited to see more interesting areas and details throughout this new action-packed entry of the series.

Special edition Ninja Gaiden 4 themed controllers for the game are being released; they are also giving people the opportunity to actually design their own controller themes with the Xbox Design Lab, which rocks, and it also reminds me of something I should recommend. I would definitely encourage people to get an Xbox controller or a PlayStation, Saga or Nintendo Switch controller if you can to avoid strange issues when you are playing games like Ninja Gaiden (or basically any game in general for that matter) because some thirdparty controllers can really go off-the-rails like Yakomo in stage one being controlled by a casual, when said thirdparty controllers becomes exposed to the slightest level of demand; some of them might just straight up turn off randomly in the middle of peak azz-kicking izuna dropping even though they are actually plugged-in and aren’t in “wireless” mode, just lock up, not be responsive at all, or make the character go around in a fxxking circle like hoola-hoop due to the fact that they are not well calibrated and have pretty non-intuitive placements, latency problems and poor build quality and cut-corner issues ๐๐คฃ๐ ๐. So if you can get a licensed Xbox controller or a licensed PlayStation controller, Saga, Nintendo, heck even Logitech, please go right ahead and save yourself the frustration; the point being, just be sure you get a solid controller that is properly designed, performs reliably and can handle these modern games like a pro ๐ฎ๐ซก๐ซก. On the other hand, maybe it’s actually a case where the controllers just couldn’t keep up with me ๐๐ค๐
I remember using off-brand controllers in the past that were iffy; currently I am still using my Rock Candy controller which is licensed by Xbox and carries the Xbox logo but I will soon replace it, not because the controller is bad, since it is a very excellent controller, but because I want to upgrade to controllers that use the Hall Effect and TMR technologies ๐๐What I am going to be checking out when Ninja Gaiden 4 drops:

Jen, this is a very serious accusation your silly azz made and you need to explain why you claim that I “hacked” your email and what proof do you have that, out of all the fucked up people you know or have dealt with, it is “me” specifically that “hacked” your email ๐๐ค
Why would I take time out of my interesting life to hack your useless “email”? — there are plenty of ways and reasons you could have been “hacked”, the main one being you don’t know what the fxxk you are doing and caused your own “email” to be compromised, you genius ๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐คฆโโ๏ธ.
A couple of important things to note for anyone who is reading this: just because she is having “issues” with her email that she can’t figure out, or just because she may not be able to “access” it (maybe she’s “locked” out, or messed up the credentials or something), in no way means she was actually “hacked”, so she may not actually be “hacked” and I have no idea what exactly she means by this. But even so, anyone could have “hacked” this fool including people that are, or have actually been around her in real life. I am not sure why she is claiming that I specifically “hacked” her email. Maybe I am the only one she can “think” (I use that word very loosely in Jen’s case) of that actually has a brain to pull off stuff like this.
It’ll be interesting to see what proof this bonehead has of me “hacking” her email because usually she just says stuff like this with absolutely no brain-cells involved what-so-ever. I made the mistake of wishing this unstable freak Merry Christmas and the first thing Jen does is baselessly lie that I hacked her email. Stupidity doesn’t stop even during the holidays for sure ๐คญ๐๐๐คญ

- [A Gaming Must]
When I was a gaming newbie, perhaps when I was under 10 years of age or so, I probably played a *hand-full of NES games at the time, and it was still loads of fun because I enjoyed them with my siblings and I mean, what was there not to love about NES games back then?, I even had the original duck-hunt game, the NES gun, and many awesome peripherals for the system ๐ฎ๐น๏ธ. I enjoyed the heck out of what I had, and it’s the same thing with when I got an SNES, years later ๐๐คฏ๐.
These days I have way more than a hand-full of games that I am interested in, especially factoring in the fact that I am very savvy now compared with my much younger self which makes it hard to keep tabs on all these really marvelous games that I have been seeing, and this is how we arrived at my very trusty backlog of games on my To Play List. Why use up all my #SmartMemory (technological-pun intended ๐คญ๐) to memorize all these games when I can just store them on a list and use my brain-power to focus on other things?, hahaha.
That’s exactly what I did; see, gaming is a very active scene, just like technology, there is always something releasing — new things come out rapidly and there are many things you just never see coming, so I make a list to keep tabs on a ton of these great surprises out there that gaming made possible, thus the gaming list and thus the backlog ๐ฏ๐๐๐. “Backlog” just refers to the fact that I have not played the majority of games on the list and that can be for various reasons like some of them have not been released yet, or I don’t have the storage for them, or my PC may not be able to handle them (which currently is a rare thing now that I have my Xeon + Arc A770 GPU beast ๐๐๐) but that I intend to enjoy as much of them as possible and have them on my system eventually — it’s sort of like a check-list ๐๐กโ๏ธ.
Out of all the games, there is one today that I have to absolutely highlight, and it is none other than Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is immensely enjoyable ๐๐๐; I cannot believe how phenomenal this game actually is ๐ฅ๐คฏ๐ฅ๐คฏ. The way they did the visuals to actually compliment the gameplay is unbelievably good, it feels like the environments and many interesting touches within them actually have an impactful purpose just like the mechanics โ๏ธ๐.
The way that the tone of the environments and the scenery changes to match what’s going on in scenes, is incredibly dynamic and that is one of the things that’s blowing my mind about this Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero game, it’s beyond immersion at this point, and I love how there is some destructible elements in the stages too ๐ฅ๐๐๐. It’s one heck of a Dragon Ball game and the roster is HUGE; the content and the content quality is also huge, and another huge deal is that this game features a mode where you can play bonus battles and also an option to actually make your own Dragon Ball scenarios and character duels; so basically you can make your own Dragon Ball story or saga and that is a monumental thing to be able to do in a game like this with so many characters, so many great stages and so much content, which makes this opportunity explode with Dragon Ball-possibilities that’s just too much to wrap your mind around ๐ค๐.
It’s right up my alley because I am so much of a “gamer” that I am beyond the stage where I only play games now — in fact, I have actually been experimenting with making my own games and prototyping game-based ideas using RPG Maker and other similar programs, and my excitement for doing these things is substantial especially upon learning or discovering new exciting developments concerning game Engines and things like that ๐ฒ๐๐กโ๏ธ. So to see these remarkable tools in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero where you get to put your own what-if spin on things and manipulate the functions in the game in different ways, is a level of creativity that I actually greatly appreciate and something that makes the game a permanent-keep on my PC for sure LOL

I have been fortunate to have actually test-out some of the games on this list like Brawlhalla and Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise Of The Dragons which are tremendously awesome ๐๐๐คฏ, and I definitely have to get them reinstalled on my computer when I get more storage and stuff like that, but the general idea behind the list still remains the same. I even write down the name of some games that aren’t on PC that are still interesting concepts and series that I may follow up on like Street Fighter: The dual for example, which looks like all kinds of kickass, because sometimes it is fun to see some of these games from different perspectives that are typically only in one genre, because this can be extremely stellar when delivered right and to me Metal Slug Tactics and Street Fighter: The Dual are great examples of such potential strictly with regard to seeing certain games or franchises that were mainly in one style of game play become playable in different spin-off ways.
As extensive as my list is, it keeps getting updated. Some new games get added while some are taken off, but as you can see, I play all kinds of games and with a list of games like this, you don’t stress and moan about some story not being flawless, you’re not looking for some sort of pseudo soap opera folly, you’re just having an utter blast, which is how I like my gaming ๐๐๐๐ซก
If I just wanted to play a hand full of games there would be no need for any list, but it’s clear that I have interest is far more than a handful of games thus why this list exists. It is no normal list, and I am obviously no normal gaming dude ๐คฃ๐

In my previous gaming topic, I highlighted my utter delight with the Ninja Gaiden franchise, staring with Ninja Gaiden 1๏ธโฃ, ultimately completing that and now on to Ninja Gaiden 2๏ธโฃ, and then eventually I will play Ninja Gaiden 3๏ธโฃ ๐ก๐ถโ๐ซ๏ธ๐ฎ. I also mentioned Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z as technically being within the Ninja Gaiden franchise and can be considered a 4th Ninja Gaiden game, but stated that it is still really and truly a spinoff.

I think Yaiba has alot of “strong” points, and me being the creative mind that I am, I am not one who believes that if the game is a commercial flop series should never come back โโ ๏ธโ ๏ธโ. For me, looking at this from the perspective of creativity, Team Ninja can still do some incredible things with the Yaiba series, and as a mater of fact, I don’t believe that any game is necessarily a hopeless cause and stands no-chance of ever being a much better series than it ever was๐ . That is nonsense because, of course when it comes to creativity, anything is possible ๐ฏ๐ก๐. Of course some hard decisions have to be made to do whatever it takes to make games like this, as good as they can be, even if in the case of Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z specifically, it needs to borrow influences from the main Ninja Gaiden games and elsewhere ๐๐๐.
One thing I really like about the game is for sure Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z’s: art-style. It’s not trying to look too heavy on “realism” and it actually reminds me of comic/anime/manga franchises; I would go as far as saying that it has an artistic style that is totally awesome and timeless, and while I understand that part of being in the videogame industry is making money ๐ธ๐ฐ๐ต, and companies and developers are a bit hesitant to pour money into a series that may not perform too well financially, I think that Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z was sort of artificially restrained in key areas to prevent it from being too much like a Ninja Gaiden game, but the point here is that the game has issues that are beyond fixable ๐ ๏ธ๐ทโโ๏ธ๐ทโโ๏ธ๐ฏ. Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z doesn’t have to be as serious as the main Ninja Gaiden titles, but I don’t see any reason why it cannot be even MORE epic. Of course keep the ideas of making it a more humorous experience, but improve on it ๐ก. It has the zombie thing going for it, of course keep this and *improve on it ๐ก. I really liked the idea of obtaining unique temporary weapons from the different types of enemies, of course keep that, but *improve on it ๐ก. The point being, there is no reason why Yaiba can’t be as fantastic as Nioh, Ninja Gaiden 1/2/3 or any other game out there, it’s all about the *creativity. I would just go back to the drawing-board with Yaiba (Ninja Gaiden Z — it’s important to note this because there is also another series named Yaiba), forget about building it to “make it appeal to a western audience” and just try to “improve” and “replace” in key areas — although I do admit that if the devs are not familiar with certain western concepts, or the western devs are not all that familiar with certain Japanese or Chinese folklore, then of course they have to learn and do research etc, but otherwise, if the game is exciting, people would appreciate the game no matter. I think they should really emphasize the over-the-top, comic-like, “what if” style of the Yaiba universe and take that alot further; learn a thing or two from some of these anime titles that have game adaptations, raise Yaiba from the slumber and take it to the next level, with the unstoppable “improve and replace” creative technique โ๐๐งโโ๏ธ๐ฅท.

Metal Slug Tactics is another series I mentioned, and boy is that an exciting sight to see ๐คฏ๐คฏ. I haven’t played it yet, but who would have thought that we would actually see a Metal Slug game in the tactics genre? ; nobody saw that one coming — this is one of the most wonderful things to ever happen to gaming LOL. I will be giving it a run as soon as I am back in gaming mode ๐ฎ๐น๏ธ๐.


Games like Bleach: Rebirth Of Souls and The Hidden Ones, that are anime adaptations, always impress me with their consistency in lore and immersion โ๏ธโ๏ธ๐ฏ๐ฏ. They always look and play so much like the actual anime and that is something that is always so surreal no matter how many times I’ve seen these kinds of games. My first play of an anime-game-adaptation was actually a game from the Naruto series on PS2, and I was just blown away — these games like Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, the Gundam games etc, are just remarkable, the lore and immersion you get in these games are next-level and I am just as blown away by the gameplay and the scenes I have seen from the new Bleach: Rebirth Of Souls & The Hidden Ones games, although I will actually have to play the games to go beyond the surface and see what they will be really like to play overall ๐๐๐ฏ๐. But so far, I don’t see any reason why Bleach: Rebirth Of Souls (for example) would be a terrible game — it looks as if it plays brilliant. Same thing with The Hidden Ones.
I guess we will have to see how the “story” is but unless my expectations are unrealistically high or just unrealistic, I don’t see any reason why I wouldn’t appreciate the story aswell. People critique the “story” in games; “story this and “story” that, and it sounds like they may be on to something at first, then you realize that these people have 101 different ideas of what makes a good “story” but …. to them. The notion of what makes a “good story” is all subjective rat-nest theory, there is no such thing as a story that pleases all, just like there is no such thing as a game that pleases all . I can never know the “story” as well as those who made the franchise in the first place and if people want a really good “story” that much, read a book, get shakespeare or something like this, then come back to the game when you want to have *FUN ๐๐ ๐คฃ.
For me, what I mostly look at, is if the game comes out as-advertised, because some games look great in trailers, but by the time they come out, they went through so many “changes” that the game doesn’t really play as it was advertised. Fortunately, I find that rarely is the case with anime titles ๐๐๐ฅณ๐.
The games mentioned here are just a few out of a very long and growing list of games that I am actually looking forward to trying out ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ๐ค; I haven’t even touched the fighting game genre or the racing genre, or the sports genre — I actually play all kinds of games like shooters, sidescrollers, top-downs — you name it!. Currently I haven’t really done that much gaming as I would like too, but that would be changing in a major way soon ๐๐๐๐ฏ.
Lately, it has been more practical for me to *test how games run on my computer because I have very limited space on my drive to store games and game on properly ๐ชซโ ๏ธ๐ ๐คซ, so usually when I install a game, it’s just to see how it runs on my system, play it for a day or so, deleted it to free-up the space, then install another game and do the same thing all over again for the sake of testing the performance of my system across various games LOL. I am mostly dealing with video editing and creating material for my comic which is where the majority of my resources are reserved for at the moment. But soon enough, my aim is to add a little more juice/power to my PC and then I will be gaming heavy!; by then I will have more than enough storage for games since some of them are upwards of atleast 50GB+/100GB+ in size, and right now my SSD has nowhere near that much space available to store much of anything especially since I am using programs like After Effects and Photoshop which use a ton of disk space to cache and off-load files to temporarily ๐๐คญ. Adding more power to my system would actually allow me to record games that are really demanding which is something I would really like to do, but apart for that, my Intel Xeon E5 2620 V3 + Intel A770 and 16GB of RAM can play most games well ๐๐๐๐.

It’s an incredible time for games; from Bleach, to Dragon Ball Z, to Ninja Gaiden, to Shinobi, to The Hidden Ones, and even Metal Slug which is a pretty iconic franchise that recently launched a new Metal Slug Tactics game, just to name of few. I have so many games on my “to play list” that I can’t even name or remember all of them for this topic; there is just so many of them to keep track of now-a-days and one of the best things for me is that alot of really quality and truly fun titles are coming to PC and are multiplatform ๐๐๐ฅณ๐๐. YES!, gone are the times that the PC platform is seen as the platform for MMO titles only ๐๐.
For this entry, I am going to focus mainly on Ninja Gaiden. I had a blast playing Ninja Gaiden 1, which was seriously all kinds of cool ๐ฏ๐๐คฏ๐. I have actually completed Ninja Gaiden 1 recently and it had more of a metroidvania flow to it compared to the pure action arcade feel of Ninja Gaiden 2 and Ninja Gaiden 3 in my opinion, and its the kind of game where you have to use a map, which on numerous instances became tricky since there were many moments that I just got stuck not knowing where on Earth I had to go and the map system has a layer of technicality to it, that at times, only made you more confused than anything else — the backtracking of this game is pretty deep compared to the arcade-like seamless flow of the newer Ninja Gaiden games ๐๐.
The combat was classic. The feel of Ninja Gaiden’s combat (in this context meaning the franchise as a whole) is extremely unique — there are not that many games that can directly compare to the distinct raw hack-and-slash feel of the Ninja Gaiden titles, although in Ninja Gaiden 1 the combat system is affected in some ways by delays and pauses after certain inputs that makes the action not as fluid as the other games of the franchise.
Ninja Gaiden 2 is superior in terms of the flow, depth and fluidity in the way that you can string together techniques and combine skills, and the pace in which you can move through the stages without having to do too much backtracking, or backtrack at all compared with Ninja Gaiden 1, and it’s specifically because of these shortcomings that you can feel how advanced Ninja Gaiden 2 and Ninja Gaiden 3 are compared to Ninja Gaiden 1, and by the same token what actually makes Ninja Gaiden 1 harder to play than Ninja Gaiden 2 and Ninja Gaiden 3 in my opinion. Strictly combat-wise, Ninja Gaiden 1 in my opinion is actually more difficult than Ninja Gaiden 2 and Ninja Gaiden 3 because of its stated limitations.
Mechanics-wise, Ninja Gaiden 3 actually has the best combat system in the series so far, even better than Ninja Gaiden 2 if we are to disregard the lack of content in its initial release-state and other decision-based stuff, or maybe 1 or two popular mechanics being either completely taken out, readjusted, nerfed etc; overall, it just feels to me that Ninja Gaiden 3 actually has the best mechanics out of all 3 Ninja Gaiden games (or 4 games if we count Yaiba, but Yaiba is a spinoff and isn’t technically part of the main series; Yaiba is actually its own series while Ninja Gaiden Z refers to the *timeline or the specific plot that’s focused on for the launch of the Yaiba franchise, which is heavily linked to the Ninja Gaiden universe and actually has an interesting combat system in its own right). There is an actual Ninja Gaiden 4 coming out and I can’t wait to see more of that ๐๐๐ฅท.
I haven’t really played much of Ninja Gaiden 3 yet, but every time I play it, it’s an absolute blast for me ๐ฅ๐คฏ๐ฅ๐คฏ. So far Ninja Gaiden 2 is super kickass with regard to the overall experience. After playing the heck out of Ninja Gaiden 1 for a while, at some point I just decided to do a brief run of Ninja Gaiden 2 since I was determined to finish Ninja Gaiden 1 before I moved up to Ninja Gaiden 2, and lets just say I found it extremely hard to stop playing ๐คฃ๐คฃ. On just this said short run through Ninja Gaiden 2, I actually ninja’d my way through to about Chapter 4 before I decided enough was enough ๐คญ๐ ๐.
Ninja Gaiden 2 feels and plays extremely well balanced — every single part of the game is fun to play and made even more appreciable when compared with Ninja Gaiden 1 and knowing how Ninja Gaiden 1 really stacks up gameplay wise and how bottlenecked Ninja Gaiden 1 feels in comparison ๐๐ฏ๐๐. Everything from the sound effects, the tighter responsive controls, little additions and improvements to the combat system, how you’re able to traverse levels, how auto-aim and targeting works, the removal of how long you can be under water or have to be underwater at all, and little changes like that, makes Ninja Gaiden 2 a masterpiece despite Ninja Gaiden 1 actually being the hardest to me ๐๐คญ๐๐ฅท. Not to say that Ninja Gaiden 2 isn’t difficult, because Ninja Gaiden 2 still is challenging, but it’s alot more balanced and because of the familiarity and skills you hone from playing through Ninja Gaiden 1 and picking up the fundamentals, its as if you just created a newgame+ on Ninja Gaiden 2 with upgrade level 3 on player-skills by default LOL. The transition is pretty smooth if you start playing Ninja Gaiden 2 on normal coming from playing and completing Ninja Gaiden 1.
Even when I put Ninja Gaiden 2 on the second highest difficulty or the mentor difficulty, its still not challenging to where the game isn’t fun, and that’s the thing, Ninja Gaiden 2 is still challenging and brutal — the regular enemies can defeat you without much effort and you have to use concentration and timing in this game or else you are obliterated, but how everything comes together in Ninja Gaiden 2, is in a way that the challenge and overall gameplay is exhilarating and that’s what is key, not weather or not the game is outrageously challenging, but that it manages to still be alot of fun and extremely enjoyable despite giving you a challenge, which is why I assume that Ninja Gaiden 2, to date, is still played far more than Ninja Gaiden 1 and even Ninja Gaiden 3. Difficulty isn’t everything and Ninja Gaiden 2 masterfully strikes an artistic balance in these two areas.

Let me mention a few extra things about these games (that can also be applied to games/gaming in general):
(1) I really like how each weapon in Ninja Gaiden feels unique and different and are all loads of incredible fun to play and experiment with, and have their own unique set of skills and so on. That’s major pluses to the development teams and creators of the game — MORE OF THIS in future games please, don’t water-down the franchise! ๐๐น๐ฏ๐ฏ. You can’t go wrong with including different types of game modes as well, like a boss battle mode for example where players are strictly facing off against bosses and you even get bouts against featured guess bosses from some of the older tiles as far back as Ninja Gaiden 1 or even from the retro/SNES era. Who knows, maybe there could be a mode where players get to make their own scenarios and set what the goals are, what kinds of enemies and how many will be in a particular stage and things like this. Featuring different playable characters that you can play through the entire game just like you can with Ryu, would also be extremely SUPER in future titles; those are just examples but I think it gets my perspective across.
(2) One thing I definitely have to mention is my wish for developers to cease adding useless stuff to games that literally add no value ๐๐๐๐คญ. If you are going to put a weapon or armor or “perk” in a game, make them *enjoyable — it’s no point placing “equipment” or “accessories” and things of that nature, in a game and the stat increases or “benefits” they supposedly provide are so low and minuscule that they just feel like a complete waste of space and nobody is going to really use them because whatever stat-boost they [supposedly] provide are in such low percentages that it just feels extremely mediocre and not really fun — there is no fun in this; it just feels like nothing and is a wasted opportunity — developers should shun tuning otherwise really cool stuff in games into useless junk from the application of meaningless, low, meager stat-modifiers that literally equate to zero-percent effect in the overall scheme of things, it is a very uninteresting thing to do to content that people would obviously just forget about and never use ๐ ๐๐.
Thirdly: I must mention games like Ninja Gaiden where there are areas that are completely empty and the character takes forever to reach from one end of the empty stage to the other end of an empty stage and there is no way to increase the speed of the character except to manipulate the brief moment of initial (fairly minute) increase of speed via a “jumping”/ hopping technique. Just put a proper speed & fast travel mechanic in the game so that you are able to move the char through some of these very dead, long areas in stages/routes that take alot longer to traverse than it should, rather than players having to manipulate a jump mechanic to speed things up which actually barely does anything to help with this long slow process through wide-open lengthy areas in stages that take forever to “run” pass with nothing much going on, especially in games or stages where you have to do alot of backtracking ๐ฏ๐๐.
There is a level of backtracking in Ninja Gaiden 1 but what I really admire about the stage/level design in Ninja Gaiden 1 is how the stages are actually linked together which you don’t really get a true sense of until late in the game. It was pretty intriguing to finally access/reach areas in Ninja Gaiden 1 though some door that was locked for the longest while, or some area that was blocked-off, only to discover and see how it was linked to some other area that is only available to you in later chapters, that you literally went pass a million times and had no idea that it led to an area that took you a while to get too that was practically “just around the corner” if it wasn’t for some particular door or area initially being blocked or impassible LOL. The way these different areas and regions actually connect and transitionally-blend into each other, was very artfully done and is an aspect of Ninja Gaiden 1 that is top notch ๐๐.

I hope you all liked this presentation. I think you may also notice that for some interesting reason, this comic-like scene is actually a video instead of an image like Webp which I had been using for a while. I may still continue using Webp but there is a downside to using Webp and GIFs in the fact that they cannot play audio ๐๐คญ๐ .
I wanted to add some audio to compliment the F1 scenes in particular, and thought about just having an audio player under the images which would play sounds for the Comical Le Mans sequences, and maybe if the images were static/still or there wasn’t alot going on in the images, that probably would have been great, but because my scenes have alot of frames and the sizes are above average for this kind of thing, the images take considerably loner to load than the audio does, so it’s extremely difficult to get the audio and the related scenes to play in sync using that method, and the only thing I could think of that would solve that issue is to use an actual video format โ๏ธ๐ก๐ก.
The issue I ran into initially was that WordPress.com doesn’t seem to support raw quicktime/.MOV files using the “Animation” codec, and on top of that, the quicktime files were coming out very huge in size for such short scenes, so even if the quiktime format was supported, with its massive file sizes and the amount of videos I have to make for the Comical Le Man sequence (and potentially the series overall) there was just no practical way I could continue ๐๐๐๐.
That was at first, but then, after pretty much getting stuck trying to figure out if there were other video formats that supported transparency like quicktime but allow you to change and adjust the bitrate so that the file sizes wouldn’t be so huge, I finally found a “miracle”. There is this program by the name of Shutter Encoder that actually has the capacity to convert Quick-time files into WebM files; WebM is very similar to Quick-time where it actually supports transparency in videos if you use the “VP9 codec”, and what’s more is unlike the Animation Codec/preset of QuickTime where the bitrate is automatically fixed/locked in most programs and cannot be adjusted, the WebM format doesn’t have that limitation and you can actually adjust the bitrate and convert files into the WebM format at extremely low bitrates without ruining the overall quality of the videos๐๐๐ฅณ๐ฅณ๐๐. As a matter of fact, you can get MP4 quality videos with WebM files that are considerably lower in file-size than other file-formats that are at the same bitrates, and that was the most jaw dropping thing that I realized since I originally wanted to use the WebM format because it is basically the only alternative to QuickTime that would actually play on WordPress, but to actually be able to adjust the bitrate and create files that are extremely low in size, while at the same time still retain excellent quality, was something I was not expecting. I was stuck for about 2 days trying to come up a solution to the issue so that I can move on with the project, and here comes Shutter Encoder to the rescue ๐๐๐น.
So after doing some testing with the WebM format by using Shutter Encoder to convert my MOV files and test them on WordPess, I am beyond delighted with the [consistent] results especially considering how you can basically do all of the things with the videos that you can do with images, plus more ๐ค๐ค. So I am at the point were I am considering to make the scenes WebM formatted rather than animated images because you get way better file sizes, you get better quality, you get to include audio, the videos perform better on sites overall than the animated images, and with videos, people can pause them at any time, stop the video, go/skip to a specific point in the scenes, speed up the scene, slow them down; it’s just alot better with the WebM format over the GIFs and WebP, APNG etc especially since you can get the video to function like an animated image without the actual limitations of the images ๐๐๐.
You can loop the video, or not loop the video, you can set it to auto-play or not auto-play, you can hide the controls or leave them visible and such helpful underrated options you are presented with (atleast on WordPress.com) just like you can with the images if you were to include those same functions (looping, transparency etc) with FFMPEG. So I don’t see any reason why (unless it comes to the development side of things), I should go back to using animated images over using WebM and Videos for scenes that feature extensive motion graphic elements.
This was just another interesting update — Shutter Encoder + WebM is creative surrealness ๐๐๐๐. Speaking of surrealness, we have all heard bout Ninjas but a Ninja that drives super fast cars? — does it get any better??? LOL. This is a concept that I was developing as a sort of interesting approach to depicting animated objects and icons alongside complimentary surroundings and environments ๐๐๐. Additionally, one of the key features of this GRID is that it would also have things moving about inside of it, in real time ๐ก๐ก.
Currently the GRID is still in a very experimental and unfinished stage because I am still at the point of developing it and seeing what more I can add to it, plus I am still playing around with the plugs-ins and features in After Effects and discovering more creative possibilities, so it’s going to take some time before it’s actually ready to be used in episodes etc.
But I paused on working with the GRID and moved to another fun idea that came to my mind at the time.
Introducing the: DYNAMIC 3D COMIC PANELS
This very intriguing innovation is an interesting layout that is made to put actual animated comic scenes on display in the center, in either a squared resolution for the scenes and footage that have a squared aspect ratio, or a rectangle display for the scenes and footage that have a rectangular aspect ratio, and features panels that can be applied with either static graphics or video footage to compliment the main scenes that will be playing in the middle โ๏ธ. If you take a close look at many of the episodes and sequences that I released thus far in the series, you would notice that many of them have very interesting designs and overall shapes and don’t really have solid “square” or “rectangular” backgrounds, which makes them appear to be cut-outs as a result and that’s exactly what I was aiming for with these panels to some degree; I was looking to achieve that cut-out look which I really like ๐๐๐๐.
I am very happy about these creations, which should give the series another fun dynamic touch. So as you can see, I didn’t creatively “crash out” LOL ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ. I am not crashing out folks — I am actually doing stuff for the comic even though you don’t see a ton of updates ๐ค๐๐ค. The KATAKLYZM is a series that I have a tremendous amount of enthusiasm for and it’s fun experimenting with the creativity that comes along with it, even though as with any project, there are some very extra annoying hick-ups if you will ๐๐คฃ.
Pardon alot of the impromptu material that have been released lately, that lack certain things that I wanted to feature alot more prominently in the sequences like emoji along with providing more “polished” elements ๐คญ๐ถโ๐ซ๏ธ. Some of the scrips could have also used a little more work, but I am happy to present these latest developments to you which will be added to the list of awesome things that you can expect in the Kataklyzm ๐ฅ๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ฏ.
The demonstrations shown also gives a dynamic taste of the powerful capabilities and creative potential of my Motion Comic Engine. With the Motion Comic Engine, the exciting comical possibilities are unlimited! ๐๐๐๐. I also have to mention once more that the quality and fidelity of the animated images are testament to how awesome the new WEBP format and the other new GIF alternatives are.
The only issue is that I don’t really went the size of the images to be too big, and would rather them be around 10MBs at best or lower, so I will try to see how I can make sequences shorter without losing a ton of context and creative aspects, and by also making tweaks to the FFMPEG Codes ๐ค๐ค. I was so excited about these developments that I even actually wanted to make another version of the series that would feature fully animated scenes and scenarios, but that idea would not have included alot of the original plots that I really want people to see, since it would have required a huge chunk of time and killed my storage to turn the individual story-lines into animated conversions๐๐๐ . So instead for now, I will just stick with the original execution/plan and only use animations for the skills and some specific scenario here-and-there.

I can’t wait for you guys to see what I have in store reguarding this powerful Museum series and some other very recent kreative klassic ideas related to it. It’s going to be “history” in the making — we are going to be looking at some very very interesting stuff hahaha :D
