Above My Pay Grade!

You be the judge.

Today’s cult of personality politics was driving me nuts.  So instead of yelling at the television a blog was born.

This blog is named after an incredible comment by Barack Obama:

“… whether you’re looking at it from a theological perspective or a scientific perspective, answering that question  with specificity … is above my pay grade.” Presidential Candidate Barack Obama at Saddleback Church.

That quote put me over the edge.  I just cannot believe Barack Obama has not thought about these issues as a confessed Christian believer. Naturally, he has quite a firm stand on this issue.  He just chooses to answer questions when it suits him.

So, every time I type it’s therapy. A deep breath.

So what’s my aim?  Sanity. Peace. Hope. Change. Cliches. Digital kryptonite?

I want to illuminate the stories I find on the internet to help my friends (old and soon-to-be) understand why I support John McCain for president.

About Me?  About Us? About the Group?

Here are a few tidbits…

• Worked at the White House (not Waffle), yes, THE WHITE HOUSE, for a few years in a non-political position during the “I feel your pain” administration.
• Played golf with Michael Jordan
• Named after the senior senator from Massachusetts
• Enjoyed two whole games of the World Series with my wife!  She’s awesome.  My team won!
• I have flown in a black helicopter, been on Air Force One, and various other military craft.
• Ran a couple of marathons
• Have problems with ending sentences in prepositions.  Not too sure about the dangling participle.
• I’m a Christian.  I believe Jesus Christ is who the Bible says He is.  It’s true.  Really. Water to wine, walking on water, healing the dead- Jesus was here and did all of those things.  He died and rose from the dead.  Amazing, don’t you think?
  • That also means I’m a born-again hypocrite. We all are. I’m a jerk, I cut off people in traffic, kick my dog when no one is looking, say bad things sometimes. On really special occasions I can really screw things up. We need Christ.  Please see bullet above and the Gospel According to John.
