Why Does The RCC Mary, mother of Jesus Have a Crown but Orthodox Mary Doesn’t Have One?

Written by Victoria Van Valen April 1st, 2024

A friend asked me that question, of which I jumped to the opportunity of finding facts of the truth; so, I had to start from scratch and couldn’t avoid mention where did the source or first instance comes from:

Opinion: Which came first, the Orthodox or Catholic church in Rome?

“Both Churches are from the 1st century A.D. when they were ONE church until they became two. Both claim to descend from the Apostles. Both claim to be Catholic (universal) and Orthodox (correct)”. The Orthodox do not have a Pope but a Bishop/Patriarch, and holds no statues, but merely “Icons” of a few saints, including Mary without a crown.

Orthodox Mary: Often depicted as an Icon, typically there is no rosary not monument/statues within the church temple

https://www.saintjohnchurch.org/orthodox-worship-virgin-mary/

Contrasting from The Orthodox: The RCC/“Catholic Church” has adopted over the years various doctrine deemed canon by the Pope heads, but not in standard with biblical canon necessarily. Namely, adopting dogmas that elevate Mary to a Royalty Entity next to Jesus, and comparing her to many of The Old Testament and New Testament parallels, supported by biblically unsound or unrelated verse.

Why does Mary Wear a Crown:

“The mention of Mary being a “queen” initially was after the Catholic teaching on this subject is expressed in the papal encyclical Ad Caeli Reginam, issued by Pope Pius XII in 1954. It states that Mary is called Queen of Heaven because her son, Jesus Christ, is the king of Israel and the heavenly king of the universe.”

“The Catholic teaching on this subject is expressed in the papal encyclical Ad Caeli Reginam, issued by Pope Pius XII in 1954. It states that Mary is called Queen of Heaven because her son, Jesus Christ, is the king of Israel and the heavenly king of the universe..”

“Queen of Heaven (Latin: Regina Caeli) is a title given to the Virgin Mary, by Christians mainly of the Catholic Church”

Roman Catholic Mary, depicted holding the body of Jesus, dead and powerless, an artistic rendering of a story not found in the Bible, because Mary had to go into hiding, along with the disciples before the body was claimed by Joseph of Arimathea, a Pharisee member of the Sanhedrin. Matthew 27:57–60; Mark 15:42–46; Luke 23:50–53; and John 19:38–42. He is called “Joseph of Arimathea” because “he came from the Judean town of Arimathea” (Luke 23:51) and to distinguish him from other Josephs in the Bible.

I came across this collage, after searching for the famous claim (among RCC members) of the “Davidic Kingdom”, as a reason for needing a “mother queen”.

On Point A1, you see a description (by Scott Hahn an RCC religion “historian” and book author) of an Old Testament analogy of King David’s kingdom of Jerusalem, having his mother work with himself at the court/throne. The rhetoric alludes at the fact that “because” Jesus descends from King David’s Genealogy, that then Mary should reign with Jesus in the Eternal Kingdom side by side, just as “the Davidic kingdom’s tradition” , “King and Queen Mother”, side by side.

All of this is completely UNBIBLICAL. Personal note: Scott Hahn makes great for a fairy tale writer; though not only members of the congregation do such extra-biblical claims, priests and CateSchism (catechism) teacher priests do the same as you will see in video at the end of this page.

Quotes A1 & B1 by Scott Hahn- Catholic Doctor & Author

On Point B1: Scott Hahn, references the detail on Point A2 (in pink highlight, this time with biblical reference to the foreshadowing of Mary (mother of Jesus) and her offspring, while God talks to Adam and Eve, about the promise of the Salvific Plan to redeem the Human Race.

At the end of Point B1, Hahn flips the narrative by comparing Mary, “she is depicted symbolically “ (but literally out of context), to The Arc of The Covenant by quoting REVELATION 11:19, of which is actually Jesus spoken about, as maker of The New Covenant .. see the Full Context in two verse, not just one:

The Seventh Trumpet

REVELATION 11:18-19

18The nations were enraged, and Your wrath has come. The time has come to judge the dead and to reward Your servants the prophets, as well as the saints and those who fear Your name, both small and great—and to destroy those who destroy the earth.” 19Then the temple of God in heaven was opened, and the ark of His covenant appeared in His temple. And there were flashes of lightning, and rumblings, and peals of thunder, and an earthquake, and a great hailstorm.”.

So, as we can see that verse 19 was excluded from verse 18, which could be interpreted in ANY way on its own… But when you put them together, you can see (plainly) that verse 18 is talking about Jesus the Judge of Judgement Day.

(See this link with details on the symbolism of the ark of the covenant What is the Ark of the Covenant? | GotQuestions.org )

On point B2, a caption of unknown author, points at some common and popular claims among RCC members:

Jesus on the cross: That Mary given to John the beloved as “a mother”, should make Mary a mother to EVERY Christian” on earth and in eternity, claiming the “Davidic Kingdom” as mentioned previously on Point A1.

Again, out of context but claiming that assumption based on Eve being mother of all humans, citing Genesis 3:15 & 3:20.

John isn’t mentioned, though when reading the event of John the beloved next to Mary at the foot of the Cross, Jesus commended John to be the one to care for Mary as He was agonizing, (a common way to care for elders and dependents in the Hebraic Jew society).

The rest of the disciples including Peter and all of Jesus’ male relatives had gone into hiding for fear of risking their lives, so apparently John was the one who stayed around the crucifixion event with Mary. Even a young man wearing just a groin cloth, dropped it and ran naked, in fear; upon the 500 soldiers that showed up, to arrest Jesus.

Betrayal and Arrest of Jesus

(Mark 43:52)

43And immediately, while he was still speaking, Judas came, one of the twelve, and with him a crowd with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. 44Now the betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “The one I will kiss is the man. Seize him and lead him away under guard.” 45And when he came, he went up to him at once and said, “Rabbi!” And he kissed him. 46And they laid hands on him and seized him. 47But one of those who stood by drew his sword and struck the servante of the high priest and cut off his ear. 48And Jesus said to them, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to capture me? 49Day after day I was with you in the temple teaching, and you did not seize me. But let the Scriptures be fulfilled.” 50And they all left him and fled.

A Young Man Flees

51And a young man followed him, with nothing but a linen cloth about his body. And they seized him, 52but he left the linen cloth and ran away naked.”

On the last part of the collage (right corner bottom), Mary is claimed to be the woman of Revelation 12:17… But it is NOT, who the prophecy is about. That is if take the time to read, you see the prophetic vision, referring directly to the New “Israel”.. The Bride! Why would Jesus be the Groom of His Mother? We know Jesus is the one meeting the Bride (His Church). 😮

See this note: Is the church or Israel the bride of Christ? – La Vista Church of Christ

Mary was blessed to be THE chosen virgin to bring forth The Son of God into this world.

Mary is not the woman of revelation 12; and so, as we’ve seen in this case of “appointing”, there are those who God calls and appoints, and others He simply allows (such as the Satan roaming the world temporarily); we know what pleases God, because The Holy Spirit Inspired Scriptures, as written, do not need interpretation, rather we have to search God’s Holy Spirit to help us study and understand.

Mary was given a Crown by the fervent Religious, either out of ignorance or necessity to affirm their view of the mother figure element, perhaps lacking in their own physical lives. Regardless, the risk of blasphemous actions and deeds, are far worse to fear than risking our physical life. We can only pray for those and against delusion…. That they stop and avoid being accursed for speaking and spreading a different Gospel other than the Gospel of Jesus, as Paul the Apostle warned the Church of Galatians:

No Other Gospel

(Galatians 1:6-9)

6I am amazed how quickly you are deserting the One who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7which is not even a gospel. Evidently some people are troubling you and trying to distort the gospel of Christ.

8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be under a curse! 9As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be under a curse!🧐🫤🔥 🔥🔥

Paul Preaches the Gospel of Jesus

(Galatians 1:10-24)

10Am I now seeking the approval of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ. 11For I certify to you, brothers, that the gospel I preached was not devised by man. 12I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.

13For you have heard of my former way of life in Judaism, how severely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it. 14I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers.

15But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by His grace, was pleased 16to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not rush to consult with flesh and blood, 17nor did I go up to Jerusalem to the apostles who came before me, but I went into Arabia and later returned to Damascus.

18Only after three years did I go up to Jerusalem to confer with Cephas, and I stayed with him fifteen days. 19But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother. 20I assure you before God that what I am writing to you is no lie.

21Later I went to the regions of Syria and Cilicia. 22I was personally unknown, however, to the churches of Judea that are in Christ. 23They only heard the account: “The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” 24And they glorified God because of me.”

Glory to God in the highest! 🔥

“5 things to know about Mary, the mother of Jesus”

Mary, the mother of Jesus, is unquestionably the senior saint within the Christian tradition. Yet we know remarkably little about her. In the New Testament, there is nothing about her birth, death, appearance or age.

Outside of the accounts of the birth of Jesus that only occur in the gospels of Matthew and Luke, she is specifically mentioned at only three other events in the life of her son.

She is present at a wedding where Jesus turns water into wine; she makes an attempt to see her son while he is teaching; and she is there at his crucifixion. Indeed, Mary is mentioned more often in the Qur’an than in the New Testament.

Here, then, are five things we do know about her.

1. She was an accidental virgin

The gospel of Matthew is the only one to tell us Mary was pregnant before she and Joseph had sex. She was said to be “with child from the Holy Spirit”. In proof of this, Matthew quoted a prophecy from the Old Testament that a “virgin will conceive and bear a son and he will be called Emmanuel”.

Matthew was using the Greek version of the Old Testament. In the Greek Old Testament, the original Hebrew word “almah” had been translated as “parthenos”, thence into the Latin Bible as “virgo” and into English as “virgin”.

Whereas “almah” means only “young woman”, the Greek word “parthenos” means physically “a virgin intacta”. In short, Mary was said to be a virgin because of an accident of translation when “young woman” became “virgin”.

2. She was a perpetual virgin

Within early Christian doctrine, Mary remained a virgin during and after the birth of Jesus. This was perhaps only fitting for someone deemed “the mother of God” or “God-bearer”.

Saint Ambrose of Milan (c.339-97 CE) enthusiastically defended the doctrine of the perpetual virginity of Mary:

Blessed Mary is the gate, whereof it is written that the Lord hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut after birth; for as a virgin she both conceived and brought forth.

The Lateran Council of 649 CE, a council held in Rome by the Western Church, later declared it an article of faith that Jesus was conceived “without seed” and that Mary “incorruptibly bore [him], her virginity remaining indestructible even after his birth” . All this in spite of the Gospels’ declaration that Jesus had brothers and sisters (Mark 3.32, Matthew 12.46, Luke 8.19).

Just reading the blackened last sentence above this, should make anybody question what/whose Canon/rule really is over the head of the Church claiming to be the One True Holy Church of Jesus Christ… 🤢

Jesus Teaches Public Acknowledgment of Him

Jesus Teaches Public Acknowledgment of Him

Matthew 10:24-39 #4 – Denied By My Father In Heaven And “Unworthy”

“Matthew 10 verses 32 and 33 feel terrifying and bewildering. They appear to portray a mean capricious God who will walk away from anyone who does not measure up to an arbitrary standard that is impossible to comprehend.

32 ‘Everyone therefore who acknowledges me before others, I also will acknowledge before my Father in heaven;
33but whoever denies me before others, I also will deny before my Father in heaven.

Jesus appears here to be suggesting that believers must “acknowledge” him in the company of other people in order that Jesus might acknowledge us before God. At the same time verse 32 seems to hold out the possibility that, if we “deny” Jesus in the company of others, he will be equally faithless and “deny” us before God. What could possibly cause Jesus to “deny” anyone before God?

What does it mean to “acknowledge” Jesus and to be acknowledged by Jesus before God? And what could it possibly mean for us to “deny” Jesus in such a way that he will “deny” us before God?

The translation here is predictably difficult.

The Greek word translated “acknowledge” is ho-mo-lo-ge’-ō; it is a compound of ho-mos – “the same” and lo’-gos – “a word”.  So ho-mo-lo-ge’-ō means literally “to same  “word,” perhaps “to say the same thing”, “to agree”.

Set in opposition to ho-mo-lo-ge’-ō is the Greek verb är-ne’-o-mī. The correct translation of är-ne’-o-mī is not immediately obvious. Ar-ne’-o-mī may have its roots in the Greek word rhe’-ō which means “to pour forth”, or “to speak”, combined with the prefix ä’l-fä which is sometimes used to indicate contraction. So,  är-ne’-o-mī indicates a withdrawal of language, or more generally a refusal to “pour forth.”

So, Matthew 10:32,33 may indicate that, when we live/”pour forth” without fear (verse 28) and know our true worth (verses 29-31), we are able to live in tune with (ie. “to speak the same language as”) the Love/God who is our source.

Like recognizes like; when we live lives of love, we are recognized by Love. When we refuse the energy of Love, God cannot flow in our lives. When we fail to speak the language of Love; the work of Love in our lives is hindered.

This is the great dividing line; it is the only dividing line. The great fissure in the human community is between those who seek to live in the flow of Love and those who resist the power of Love and who approach life with hearts that are  contracted and shriveled. There is no easy rapprochement between those who live constricted and bound and those who live open to the free flowing spaciousness of Love. Hence Jesus goes on to warn his disciples that they must be aware that, even in the most foundational human relationship, the separation between love and not-love, can cause division:

34 Do ‘not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.
35 For I have come to set a man against his father,
and a daughter against her mother,
and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;
36 and one’s foes will be members of one’s own household.

It is where our attachments are that is most important. When we put anything ahead of our absolute unconditional commitment, to living in the energy flow of Love, we become something less than the luminous beings we were created to be. Therefore, challenging our attachment to the material timebound physical realm in the strongest possible terms, Jesus declares,

37Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy (ä’-ksē-os) of me; and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. (Matthew 10:37)

It is curious how quickly translators rush to judgment and worth. The word translated “worthy” is ä’-ksē-os. The same word appears in Matthew 3:8, where Jesus says,

Bear fruit ä’-ksē-os of repentance.

It seems odd here to translate ä’-ksē-os as “worthy”. What is “fruit worthy of repentance”? A’-ksē-os can however also be translated as “congruous” – “bear fruit that is congruous with repentance,” that is live a life that flows from repentance, from honesty, contrition, and humility.

If we follow that usage of ä’-ksē-os in Matthew 10:37, Jesus would not be making a moral judgment on those who fail to be adequately committed, he would be saying something more like,

37Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not living in tune(congruent with/ä’-ksē-os) with me; and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not congruent with me.

And so Jesus concludes

whoever does not take up the cross and follow me is not congruent (ä’-ksē-os) with me.(Matthew 10:38)

This is not a judgment; it is simply a statement of fact. When I put anything ahead of Love, I am not in tune with Love. The only way to live truly and deeply in tune with Love is to let go of all lesser commitments and lay down all worldly attachments. This is the path to that fullness of life and freedom Jesus came to embody and for which my heart longs.”

So many questions that only outsiders can answer…

For a hoard of papist priests which crucify Jesus at the altar in every mass, and pretend to drink His blood, they got no clue of anything Holy. They are stuck in the CCC doctrines. There is a special place in hell for those who deceive the hungry for spiritual food.

I pray that the spiritually blind, may see and that the hungry for truth be served justice.

Bible Love Notes: Hard Teachings of Scripture

Many believe God’s commands against premarital sex and homosexuality are “hard” teachings.

They disagree with Bible passages that define homosexuality as “unnatural” and sinful (Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9-13). They disagree that sexual intimacy should be confined to marriage (Hebrews 13:4; 1 Corinthians 6:9-13).

When people think God’s teachings are “hard,” it’s because they don’t understand the wisdom, goodness, love, and purpose of God (Psalm 33:4).

In John 6:25-70, Christ talked symbolically about His death, and many of His followers said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”

They didn’t trust Christ’s love or purposes, so they left Him.

Afterwards, Jesus turned to the Twelve and asked, “Do you also wish to leave me?”

Our country has approved sexual immorality and our courts have protected it (Romans 1:16-32).

And we must make a choice: to be ashamed of God’s words (Luke 9:26), or to lovingly defend truth and expose darkness (Ephesians 5:11).

Christ is asking, “Do you also wish to leave me?”

How will you answer?
