During personal hardships and emergencies, 211 can help you find programs and services that will assist you with basic needs, such as transportation, food and clothing banks, shelters, financial and rent assistance, household goods, and utility assistance.
Talk to Someone About Getting Help During a Crisis
211 Maine provides individuals and families in need with a shortcut through what may be a confusing maze of health and human service agencies’ phone numbers and online information. By simply contacting 211, those in need of assistance are referred to appropriate agencies and community organizations. You can talk to someone to get referrals for food assistance, shelter, transportation and emergency services.
You can also find more services and referral information from a 211 Maine specialist if you are experiencing a crisis.
If you aren’t able to access services from your initial referral, 211 Maine Specialists always encourage you to contact them back for additional resources.
