Alexey Brodkin

Alexey Brodkin is a Senior Engineering Manager at Synopsys, where he drives development of low-level run-time software for ARC processors. Alexey has been working with embedded systems for years starting from 8-bit MCUs and gradually shifting to high-performance multi-core 32- & 64-bit CPUs. He is the ARC architecture custodian at U-Boot bootloader, the co-maintainer of Linux kernel port for ARC, as well as a casual contributor to some other open source projects that he uses in his professional affairs. Today, with the increased complexity of deeply embedded systems, which require the use of more complicated software, Alexey applies his knowledge and experience with software tools and Linux development to the Zephyr RTOS.

Amy Occhialino

• Amy Occhialino has spent 25 years in the technology industry with Intel Corporation.
• She started as a process engineer focused on chemical engineering in the late ’90s and spent 20+ years working in all aspects of Intel’s semi-conductor manufacturing, from high-volume lean manufacturing to silicon technology development.
• Five years ago, Amy took the leap to another other side of Intel and began working in open-source software development.
• She is currently Senior Director of Open-Source OS Software Engineering, designing and delivering a real-time operating system (RTOS) called the Zephyr Operating System, optimized for Intel’s firmware and embedded microcontrollers.
• Amy is a leader on the board of directors that oversees the open-source governance and strategic direction for the open-source Zephyr Project, hosted at The Linux Foundation (https://www.zephyrproject.org/).
• She has spent over a decade founding and leading women’s organizations within Intel, advocating for diversity, inclusion, and equity.
• In her personal life, Amy lives in North Portland’s St. John’s neighborhood with her husband and 11-year-old twin boys, who currently believe that they are budding Timbers players, and is one of the parent leaders within her amazing local Hispanic public-school community.
