Reesetee, thanks for reminding me that it's "Honfest", not "Hon Fest". I'm not sure I ever actually went to Honfest, though I like Hampden, especially the diner food and the "Miracle on 34th Street" at Christmas time! (See here.)
I decided this week that henceforth I would be true to my Baltimoron heritage and address strangers as "hon". We'll see how long it takes to pick up the habit.
Does anyone know from where addressing strangers as 'love' (or 'luv') come? I get that sort of thing a lot but I don't think it's exclusively Australian.
