Issues
See BugzillaReports for lists of open, ready for discussion, resolved, and incorporated issues.
There are three ways to raise new issues: within Bugzilla, on the public mailing list. The Working Group has a high preference for Bugzilla and would be very grateful if reviewers could use it for raising new issues.
General information for New Issues
No matter what way you choose, please provide the following information:
- Title - A short descriptive name for the issue
- Description - A longer and complete description of the issue, state in terms of the documents
- Justification - Why is this an issue? E.g., state an architectural concern, demonstrate an interop problem, explain a use case that isn't met
- Target - What deliverable the issue is against
- Proposal - A reasonably complete proposal for how the issue should be addressed.
It is also appreciated if the proposed solution comes with test cases.
New Issues via Bugzilla
- If you do not have an Bugzilla account, create a new Bugzilla account.
- To enter a new issue, log on the Bug / Issue Tracking Service.
- Choose a component (e.g. "Transfer") and a version (e.g. "FPWD" (First Public Working Draft)).
- Enter a summary (a "topic") and a description.
- Press "Commit".
Comments on Existing Issues within Bugzilla
Note: this description applies only to NON-WG PARTICIPANTS who cannot post to the public mailing list.
- To add a comment, go to the issue and type your additional comment into the field "Additional Comments: ". Then press "Commit".
- To reply to a specific comment, go to the issue and press "reply". Add your comment and press "Commit".
Comments on Existing Issues
- To add a comment on an existing issue, add the text "ISSUE-<issue number>" in your message, e.g. "ISSUE-1234".
New Issues on the Public Mailing List
For new issue proposals on the public mailing list, please use a subject header in the form "NEW ISSUE: title". Issue proposals should include the general information for new issues described above.
