Universal Credits
Oracle Universal Credits provide a predictable, consistent way to pay for any Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) service in any region,* including future releases of cloud services. Credits are debited as you use OCI services over the course of a year, giving you the flexibility to ramp up your workloads.

The benefits of Universal Credits span all OCI regions
-
Budget for predictable spend
Customers commit to an annual spend of Universal Credits that can be used at any time for any OCI services. The Universal Credits model allows customers to commit to a specific dollar spend each year; however, their hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly spend can vary during this 12-month period. This helps alleviate budget surprises and smooth expenditures.
-
Choose your services
Universal Credits can be used toward any eligible OCI service in any OCI region.* Customers can change service usage at any time. This flexibility gives customers the freedom to try any service without being locked in.
-
Get discounted prices
Customers who purchase under the Universal Credit model can receive a discount on OCI service prices, including new OCI services that become available. If a customer exceeds their annual commitment during the cloud services period, Oracle will invoice them monthly in arrears for their excess usage based on the rate card pricing established in their order and reflected in their Cloud Portal.
Using Universal Credits

The Universal Credit model is the most flexible buying and consumption model for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services. There are two ways to purchase OCI services from Oracle: (1) Pay As You Go (PAYG) and (2) the Universal Credit annual commitment model. With the annual commitment model, customers purchase a prepaid amount of Universal Credits and the prepaid amount is draws down based on actual usage.
Credits may be applied to eligible services at any time in any OCI region.* Customers may switch services and regions at any time. (Note: This excludes customers deploying in the Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud region.)
Actual OCI service usage is debited from the customer’s total contractual amount of Universal Credits. Universal Credits must be used by the end of the contract term, which is a minimum of 12 months or as specified in the contract. Credits not used by the end of the contract term are forfeited.
If customers exceed their annual commitment during the cloud services period, Oracle will invoice them monthly in arrears for their excess usage based on the rate card pricing established in their order and reflected in their Cloud Portal. Customers may also purchase additional Universal Credits and replenish their account at their category discount.
