reasonable doubt
Reasonable doubt is the level of uncertainty that prevents jurors in a criminal case from finding a defendant guilty. It is the highest burden of proof in law and requires that the prosecution prove the defendant’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. If such doubt exists, the jury must acquit.
