The Government of Kenya has implemented a process for voter registration that uses biometric fingerprint and facial identification technologies. The system is being promoted to allow election workers to collect voter registration data in remote, rural areas. While thumbprints and facial images are used in the initial phases, plans are underway to also incorporate iris identification technology in the future.
