Volunteer Opportunities
Docents
Docents lead educational experiences that make technology, its history and stories, accessible and relevant for everyone. You should be comfortable speaking in public, have a positive attitude, and enjoy learning new skills. We especially welcome those interested in working with K–12 students. No prior experience necessary.
Demonstrators
Demonstrators share the history and impact of restored legacy computers through interactive conversations with Museum visitors. As a demonstrator, you will be trained to work with your choice of an IBM 1401, a PDP-1, or IBM RAMAC.
Collections Volunteers
Get a first peek at the new artifacts brought into the Museum. Work alongside a fun and dedicated group of core volunteers. This volunteer opportunity is at the Museum’s Shustek Research Archives located in Fremont.
For More Information
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at CHM. We are not currently accepting applications for new volunteers. Make sure you sign up for our monthly newsletter—that’s how we’ll let our community know when we have reopened applications.
