Today’s Technology makes it easier to access information Online, however, if it isn’t Accessible it can be all but invisible.

aMENU bridges the gap by allowing Patrons to access your Menu in the manner they feel most comfortable with, whether it is going online in the privacy of their own homes or using any number of Portable Devices they may choose to use.

Standard Webpage

With your Menu posted to aMENU.ca potential Patrons can visit this site beforehand and decide what they want to eat before they arrive or they can even phone ahead with an order for pickup/delivery if available.

With the options provided on the Site Patrons can change the background and foreground colours, enlarge the text or view on a Mobile phone.

The Menu will also be Accessible to Screen Readers such as JAWS (Job Access With Speech

In House Laptop/Computer

If your Restaurant wants it can offer a Laptop Computer with wireless Internet connection or similar device that can access your Menu on this site and the Patron can select their viewing Preference, whether it is Large Print or High Contrast.

Text to Speech Software

If you offer a Laptop Computer as above you can download and install the free Screen Reader below that Blind and Partially Sighted people can use to “Listen” to your Menu, just provide a set of head phones and they can navigate your Menu using keyboard commands they are already familiar with.

Providing feedback via synthetic speech and Braille, NVDA allows blind and vision impaired people to access and interact with the Windows operating system and many third party applications.

There are two packages for each release of NVDA:

• Installer: an easy to use talking installer that will set up NVDA on your computer for you so you can easily run it from the Start Menu.
• Portable Version: an archive containing a ready to run portable version that can be run from anywhere on your hard drive, a USB drive or even from a CD.

If your Customer has their own Portable Device for accessing the Internet you can direct them to your aMENU page, where they can choose their viewing preferences.

Portable Document Format (PDF)

Have your Menu converted into an accessible pdf (Portable Document Format) that Patrons can use to their own discretion, you could also use it as a Template for In House Large Print Menus if you wish, contact us for more information.
