The Global Accounting Manager will be responsible for ensuring the completeness and accuracy of all transactions in the general ledger in accordance with U.S. GAAP, and is responsible to complete accounting activities, including reconciliation and analysis. The position reports directly into the Assistant Corporate Controller. This Accounting Manager will mainly focus on Outbrain’s global entities

Key Responsibilities

• Manage third-party accountants in international locations, including review of monthly journals and intercompany transactions.
• Ensure journal entries are properly recorded in accordance with US GAAP, and that all required financial data is captured, reconciled and documented.
• Ensure balance sheet and other account reconciliations are properly performed and reviewed with reconciling items clearly explained and supported.
• Participate in monthly Balance Sheet, P&L and Cash Flow review meetings, providing analysis of key drivers impacting financial results.
• Maintain and enhance close checklists and workflows to ensure month-end close procedures and reviews are executed in a timely and effective manner.
• Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements.
• Manage departmental allocations, intercompany transactions, eliminations and foreign currency revaluations.
• Support the FP&A team in the annual budget and monthly forecast processes.
• Assist in the development of key financial policies and procedures.
• Evaluate, recommend, and enforce internal controls.
• Provide assistance with the external auditors for completion of reviews & audits.
• Identify process improvement opportunities for more efficient and effective month-end consolidation and close process.
• Work directly with the Assistant Corporate Controller on ad hoc projects, including global accounting system enhancement projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA and/or MBA a preferred.
• 5+ years of experience, with a mix of public accounting & public and/or private company experience.
• Proficient in US GAAP, technical accounting and internal controls.
• Proficient with Excel with a strong systems background (NetSuite preferred).
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to influence and drive business process changes.
• International experience a plus; experience of multicurrency environment required.
