I've done very little programming in Java so I was not at all familiar with the Java RMI system. When I tried to complete the "detour" example, I ran into the problem show below:
java.rmi.UnmarshalException: error unmarshalling return; nested exception is: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: MyRemoteImplementation_Stub (no security manager: RMI class loader disabled I used Netbeans to create the two projects. This means that each project had a separate folder structure. I think because the .class files for the implementation and the client were in separate folders, this invoked a security exception. I got around it by simply moving the ".class" files from the RemoteImpl into the same same folder as the RemoteClient ".class" files. I believe you can also fix it by using the RMI Security Manager. While I have not tried this approach, there is a brief tutorial on using here RMI Security Tutorial |
