Sorry to sound pissy but I've pulled out the rest of my hair trying to get this to work. I am a noob but I am very comfortable with HTML, XML, CSS and javascript.
When I try to test drive my app (as seen on page 16) all works fine until I clicked on New Ticket. Then I get an error about "Undefined Method" (sorry, I forgot the complete error after I updated my Rails version) So I updated my version of Rails and now I can't even get that far. When I navigate to my https://localhost:3000/tickets folder I get: NoMethodError in TicketsController#index I keep reading how "cool" and "wonderful" Rails is but it seems that each tutorial/book out there REQUIRES you to use the EXACT version of Ruby, Rails, mysql, etc. Otherwise nothing works. I've tried 3 or 4 free online tutorials that would get me so far and then my app would break. So I thought this book would be better but I still can't seem to get any further along. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
