Paper coffee cup flying & controlled models of hovercrafts
Instructable posted by
iPD
I love DIY - particularly modeling - because here, from almost
nothing, we can do really interesting "somethings"! ;o)
Today I'm trying show you (first time in English - I'm sorry for
my language mistakes), how from paper cup make a simple model of
hovercraft. But it is not all - it is fl... read more »Build a Coke Can Stirling Engine
Instructable posted by
reukpower
The Stirling engine is a heat engine invented by Robert Stirling in
1816, it's different from your car engine because the fuel is burned
outside of the engine, which makes it much easier to build. There are
Stirling engines which will run on the heat of your hand, although they
are a little harder t... read more »
Electromagnetic Floater
Instructable posted by
J_Hodgie
This Instructable will show you how to make a device that can float
almost any object with a magnet in it.
It is much like the floating globes you can buy, except it works by
balancing the forces of permanent magnets with electromagnets, rather
then simply using combinations of permanent magnets... read more »How to Make Ammonium Nitrate
Video posted by
NurdRage
In this video we make ammonium nitrate from various off-the-shelf chemicals.
Note: This is not cheaper than buying it directly, once again our
objective is to explore the chemistry.
Warning: The chemicals are corrosive and ammonia has a horrible smell,
work outside or in a fumehood and wear gl... read more »Apple iPad being Taken Apart

Make a Cloud Chamber using Peltier Coolers
Instructable posted by
nothinglabs
Cloud chambers let you see vapor trails left by radioactive particles!
Cloud chambers work by creating a supersaturation of alcohol
vapor. Vapor trails are then formed when the radiation ionizes the alcohol.
Cloud chambers need to be very cold (about -15f) - so most designs

I discovered recently while doing a small electronic project that my eye
sight was not up to scratch as I first thought.
Unfortunately, I thought I could work past my short comings and I
proceeded with putting my project together.
This resulted in my project not working as well as I wished and... read more »Core3duino
Instructable posted by

This is an addon shield to an addon shield. That's right, you have to
have the Core2duino on your Arduino to be able to understand why you
would want this in the first place. So once you have your Core2duino
saddled up, give this one a shot (you don't technically have to have the
core2duino to use t... read more »

DIY Digital Caliper Micrometer Comparator
Instructable posted by
BruceMiller
Get precise measurements with a cheap desktop scanner.
Using free software, you can measure part sizes with a resolution of
less than a mil ( 1/1000 inch or about 25 microns ).
Great for identifying mystery micro-screws, electronics, camera parts,
or even measuring plants or insects.

Instructable posted by
yardleydobon
Most instructions for building a Van de Graaff generator (VDG) are for
tabletop models; however VDGs grounded through a person work well enough
to make a handheld version possible. The Fun Fly Stick, a popular toy,
is an example of a handheld VDG. This instructable will show you how to
make your own... read more »
