I think one of the best things about tools is that they can be used to
make more tools! I decided to build a miniature milling machine for
machining plastic parts, creating wax patterns and for drilling really
small precise holes. I also wanted to design it so that I could convert
it to CNC for mach... read more »

Build your own CNC controller for next to nothing from rubbish
You can build your own CNC controller for a HM30 or Junior mill. The
CNC controller is able to move the table at a max rate of about 200-300
mm/minute.
The controller is built basicly from parts from a fisher and pykel
washing machin... read more »Easy to Build Desk Top 3 Axis CNC Milling Machine

Here is a way to make a computer controlled milling machine. That puts
the real power of a computer control machining into the hands of the
average human. Small enough to set on the desk but scalable to any size.
As inexpensive as possible without sacraficing accuracy (too much). All

How to Make a Three Axis CNC Machine (Cheaply and Easily)
Instructable posted by
oomlout
The idea behind this Instructable was to fulfill my desire for a desktop
sized CNC machine. While it would have been nice to purchase an off the
shelf unit the issue of price as well as size proved prohibitive. With
this in mind I endeavored to design and build a three axis CNC machine
with the foll... read more »
