Routing, AS Numbers, BGP

Routing refers to the system of transporting data reliably from end to end across the Internet. Within the routing system, some of the most important considerations are routing tables, which list information about the network locations of hosts; Autonomous System (AS) Numbers, which are unique identifers for networks in the global routing table; and the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) which is the standard protocol for routing across the Internet.
