Gist Improvements

Another day, more updates! We just rolled out some subtle changes to Gist
- Search! All gists are now searchable. Want to find all gists about unicorn? Done.
- Unified user box. You may have noticed we rolled out a new user box a couple days ago – that now follows you to Gist as well.
- Added your most recent gists on the home page.
- Tweaked UI. Some of the design elements of Gist have changed a bit to be more consistent with the rest of the site.

Love these small improvements to the site!

I have a gists feature request: I like embedding gists in my blog posts, but its a PITA to create a new gist for each snippet I want to embed. A preferred approach would be to have multiple files in a single gist and be able to embed them separately.

For now I've been using gists when I have one large chunk of code to embed and my blog's built-in syntax highlighter when I have many small code samples to embed.

Not a huge problem, but if its easy to implement I think it'd be a big win.

About gist titles/descriptions: it would help a lot if the gist description is rendered in the page title. That way it's available to URL-bar autocomplete for Firefox users and is searchable in history for other browsers.

Very nice improvement!

What do you think about allowing comments on gists? I often come across a gist that I have suggested improvement on, and while I could fork it and make the change, it's unlikely the developer will notice it. If the comment could kick off a message to their github inbox that would be a bonus.

@sentientmonkey: Definitely on my list of smaller improvements to gist. As for right now, if you right click on the clone urls, it'll turn into a text field ready to copy and paste.
