- Bio
- I started at O'Reilly in 1992, first in the marketing department designing magazine ads using a Mac SE30. I jumped at the chance to maintain the O'Reilly gopher and ftp sites later that year, and then became one of the founding members of GNN (Global Network Navigator) in 1993. GNN was one of the first Yahoo-like web portals, but with the added feature of distinct publications. While with GNN, I developed the Web's first weekly publication. I was part of the group that developed Safari Books Online, and then SafariU, a platform for creating customer books in print and digital formats. I'm currently director of online marketing for O'Reilly, which means I oversee oreilly.com, a site PC Magazine called "a website on steroids." I'm pretty busy pushing several of our digital initiatives. I also manage our fantastic PR group, and occasionally edit books.
