John Dillon

CEO

John has thirty years of experience building successful technology companies. He began his career as a Systems Engineer for EDS (Electronic Data Systems) and then held sales management positions at various high tech companies including Oracle Corporation. During the past 15 years, John has served as President and Chief Executive Officer for Hyperion Solutions and CEO for Salesforce.com. From 2002, John served as CEO for Navis, LLC, a private company, specializing in software systems for operating large Marine Container Terminals and distribution centers.

John holds a B.S. in engineering from the United States Naval Academy and an MBA from Golden Gate University. He served on active duty in the nuclear submarine service for five years before beginning his civilian career.

Don Jaworski

COO

Don is Chief Operating Officer at Engine Yard, responsible for Engineering Development, Technical Support, Data Center Operations & Infrastructure, and Professional Services. His career spans 28 years of engineering, business and development management at leading companies such as Cacheflow (now Bluecoat Systems), Nokia Communications, Ipsilon Networks, The 3DO Company & Sun Microsystems. Most recently, as VP Product Development at Brocade Communications, he led all aspects of engineering, product management and product marketing.

Jaworski holds a BS in Computer Science from Bowling Green State University and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

Marcy Campbell

VP of Sales

As Vice President of Sales and Business Development, Marcy is responsible for worldwide distribution of EngineYard Services. Marcy brings 20 plus years of sales management and business development experience from companies such as IBM, Lotus, @Home Networks, Moonlight Systems and Netscape Communications. Prior to joining Engine Yard, Marcy was Vice President of Enterprise Sales at Six Apart, ran Worldwide OEM Sales and Business Development for CA, and was an Entrepreneur in Residence for Bay Partners, a Silicon Valley Venture Capital Firm.

Marcy holds a BA in History and a BA in Communications from the University of Hartford.

Tom Mornini

CTO and Co-Founder

Tom co-founded Engine Yard to provide the infrastructure and support necessary to fuel development of Ruby on Rails applications. He has spent nearly 30 years as a software programmer and software architect and 20 years leading companies as a serial entrepreneur. Prior to co-founding Engine Yard in 2006, he created FaceBridge Research, Inc., a billing service for video-over-IM systems, and InfoMania Printing and Prepress, Inc., an innovator in Internet print procurement. He also served as software architect at Quios.com, responsible for designing the platform that allowed the mobile messaging company to grow into a global provider with more than 130 employees.

Michael Mullany

VP of Marketing

Michael is responsible for product management, marketing and strategy at Engine Yard. Prior to Engine Yard, he was Vice President of Products and Marketing at PeakStream (acquired by Google), a company that developed a stream programming runtime for heterogeneous systems. He was also Vice President of Marketing at VMware, leading the marketing and product management teams during the company’s breakout into the server computing market. He has also led product management and marketing teams at Loudcloud and Netscape.

He has a BA in Economics from Harvard, magna cum laude, and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar.

Sunil Pareenja

VP of Finance

Sunil is the Vice President of Finance at Engine Yard with responsibility for managing the company’s accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, tax, and human resources functions. He is a financial executive with extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, public company reporting and compliance requirements, international finance, and helping to grow technology companies. Prior to joining Engine Yard, Sunil was Vice President and Corporate Controller at Tumbleweed Communications Corp., a global, publicly-traded company. Prior to Tumbleweed, he held senior finance positions at Hewlett-Packard Company and Arthur Andersen LLP. Sunil is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of California.

He has a BA in Business Economics with honors from UCLA and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.

Jayson Vantuyl

Founder and Software Architect

Jayson is an amazing Linux system administrator, designer of Linux OS’s, clustering, and networking—among many other things. He is responsible for much of the magic in the Engine Yard private cluster.

Lance Walley

Founder (2006-2009)

Lance started working with computers in junior high school, and although he’s been a software and hardware developer about 50% of the time, Lance’s interest is more on the business and organizational side of things. This leads him to start and grow businesses with partners who have a great technical vision. He started an embedded computing business in 1987, then followed with businesses in mobile phone text messaging, billing systems for instant-messaging and staffing and recruiting for Perl and Ruby on Rails.

Ezra Zygmuntowicz

Founder and Senior Fellow

Ezra Zygmuntowicz is a founder and developer at Engine Yard. He has been active in the Ruby community for over five years, and has contributed to many open source projects, including Rails, Merb, Rack and Rubinius. He is co-author of Deploying Rails Applications, published by The Pragmatic Programmers, and speaks at Ruby, Rails and Cloud Computing related events throughout the country.
