Cloud Computing - Why IT Matters
Hi Mike,
Actually, I don’t use power point.
Edison and Westinghouse both created utility electricity grids, the former D/C, the later A/C (based on the work of Tesla and the creation of an A/C motor) and there was intense competition between them. They were both key figures in the formation of the utility electricity industry, however Westinghouse created the first A/C grid.
I’m not sure why you thought they were partnered?
As for Tesla, well he’s often the forgotten inventor behind many industries – including the wireless radio. However, Tesla did work for Westinghouse and yes he did create the A/C motor which enabled A/C power distribution.

Great talk and great use of Powerpoint; however, Westinghouse was never partnered with Edison. Westinghouse was given Nicola Tesla’s patents and was it was Tesla’s invention of the AC generator that could transmit over long distances that led to Electrical Grids.
