Searching for meaningful location-based information can be frustrating. It involves tedious visits to multiple Web sites, varying quality of fragmented data, and lots of time and effort. The world’s “local” information just isn’t that well organized. Public Earth offers quick and simple access to nuggets of local information – organized, categorized and relevant. Users can save location details to their GPS, upload information from their GPS, email to a friend, edit information that isn’t accurate, and create new content about locations anywhere in the world.
By creating a structured platform for user-generated content where people can share information layered with details and attributes, Public Earth’s goal is an open and ever-evolving database that will become the international standard for the next generation of mapping and mobile geographical content. CEO David Hose can discuss expectations for LBS applications, the monetization of content, and engaging the user community.
