"Ultimately, what I realized is that in losing my job, the O'Reilly certificates have become even more valuable to me than when I was just trying to enhance my skills." -- Michael Jarosik
Introduction to Object-Oriented Programming
In this course, students are exposed to the concepts, fundamental syntax, and the thought processes behind true object-oriented programming. Completion of this course gives students the tools and basic knowledge they need to learn more specific object-oriented programming techniques in languages such as Java, C++, C#, and VB.NET.
Upon completion of the course, students will earn 6 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) and a CEU letter from the University of Illinois Office of Continuing Education. This course counts toward both the Open Source Programming Certificate Series and the .NET Web Programming Certificate Series.
From beginning to end, participants will learn by doing their own Java applet-based projects. These projects, as well as the final project, will add to the student's portfolio and provide needed experience. Besides a browser and internet connection, all software is provided online by the O'Reilly School of Technology.
Base lab fee is a flat $9.95/month, no matter how many courses you are in.
