Privacy Statement
As with most modern organizations, The Pragmatic Studio uses computers to run our business. Under some circumstances, some of our computer systems may hold information about individuals. This document describes the ways in which this information is collected, what we do with it, and what you can do about it. This privacy policy covers the information that we hold on our websites (collectively, the "Website"), and on the systems that support our Website.
But this is an imperfect model and we don't want to put you in a box. So for each course we show the range of skill levels the course is designed for. It's up to you then to honestly assess your experience and pick the course that best suites where you currently are on the learning curve. If you have questions about how your programming experience matches with the outline below, please feel free to contact us at info@pragmaticstudio.com or 303.523.2757.
General Information Collection and Use
You can access and browse our Website without disclosing your personal data.
We collect the personal data that you may volunteer while using our services. We do not collect information about our visitors from other sources, such as public records or bodies, or private organizations. Information collected is used to register the user for certain selected services (e.g. event registration) and to contact the user about such services (e.g. e-mail address).
In order to register for our events, you will need to give us certain personal data (name, e-mail address, telephone number, and address(s)). Our registration system stores your contact information and registration details. In order to pay for our events using a credit card, you will be redirected to an Authorize.net server to supply your credit-card information. We neither process nor store any credit-card information. Authorize.net simply returns a transaction identifier and a status to our server, and at no time do we receive credit-card information.
The Pragmatic Studio is the sole owner of the information collected on the Website. We will not sell, share or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement, without first obtaining your consent. We ensure that your personal data will not be disclosed to State institutions and authorities except if required by law or other regulation.
Automatic Collection of Information
We do not automatically log personal data nor do we link information automatically logged by other means with personal data about specific individuals. (That is: the only personal data we collect about you is the stuff that you give us.) We do not use cookies to store personal data nor do we link non-personal information stored in cookies with personal data about specific individuals. Our Website does use cookies to record session information, which allows you to leave the Website and come back later to find your existing information.
Confidentiality and Security
The screens in our Website which collect personal data use SSL encryption and the HTTPS protocol. Do not enter information at the Website unless your browser indicates that the page you are using is secure. We have implemented security policies, rules and technical measures to protect the personal data that have under our control from: (a) unauthorized access, (b) improper use or disclosure, and (c) unauthorized modification.
All the people working for The Pragmatic Studio and are associated with the processing of personal data, are obliged to respect the confidentiality of our visitors' personal data.
Our Website and Children
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. We do not take specific steps to protect the privacy of children who disclose their personal data to us. However, the only circumstance in which we collect information beyond e-mail addresses is in the registration system (which requires valid payment information) and in the alumni yearbook (which is by invite only). We believe that this prevents minors from giving us information.
Passing Data to Third Parties
Our registration system passes the contact information and credit card details you give us to our payment processor at the time you register for an event.
External Links
Our Website may contain links to other websites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other websites, as this privacy statement applies solely to the Website. We encourage our users to remain vigilant when they leave our Website and to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information.
Opt-Out
We only send communications to our users who are (a) currently using one of our services, (b) have provided us with their contact information, and (c) need to be notified of something that will affect their usage of the service (an example would be server maintenance). All other communication is only sent to users who have specifically requested it. Our users are given the opportunity to "opt-out" of receiving communications from us by sending us an e-mail at info@pragmaticstudio.com and requesting complete removal.
Privacy Support
If you have any questions about our privacy policy or our use of your information, you can e-mail us at info@pragmaticstudio.com or call 303-523-2757.
Change of Use
We may from time to time change this privacy statement. However, we will never knowingly divulge or trade personal information gathered from this Website with any third party without your explicit permission.
