Users can simply tap on their notes to replay what was recorded from the exact moment they were writing, so they never miss a word. Further, the smartpen is a platform with rich I/O capabilities and a Java integrated development environment that enables a wide range of applications. A sneak peek at the Pulse Java technology-based APIs will be available at the JavaOneSM conference, along with an early version of the Livescribe developer tool suite.
The Pulse smartpen features an ARM 9 processor, a high-speed infrared camera with a Dot Positioning System, a rechargeable lithium battery, a high-contrast display, dual embedded microphones, and a 3-D recording headset.
The Pulse is available in two models. A JavaOne conference special edition of the 1-gigabyte Pulse smartpen is available only at the Conference for $139. The Pulse is also available in a 2-gigabyte model for $199 from www.livescribe.com.
JavaOne Conference Show Device - Sentilla Perk Kit
Have you ever imagined programming Java technology-based applications that interact with the real world, in a matter of minutes? Now you can build and run such applications on the world?s smallest computing platform?courtesy of the Sentilla Perk Kit (Java Platform, Micro Edition [Java ME platform] CLDC-compliant). These pervasive computers (smaller than a quarter) interact with the real world. For example, they can measure temperature and humidity or detect movement?and they can communicate with one another, including sharing data and deploying applications.
You can try out for yourself what is possible when Java technology is coupled with pervasive computers with a JavaOne conference Sentilla Perk Kit.
The Sentilla Perk Kit includes everything you need to get started:
- Three wireless nodes (two wireless development nodes and a dedicated wireless gateway node) with storage, wireless radio, an accelerometer, and LEDs
- Solderless connectors enabling you to quickly plug and play with a wide range of sensor-based peripherals (such as GPS, light sensors, and pressure sensors)
- Sentilla IDE ? Technical documentation
- Set of sample applications
The Sentilla Development Kit (a $399+ value) is being offered to JavaOne conference attendees
at a special price of only $199.
