Marketing Manager-Conferences
Can you make a difference??
In this high visibility position, we will look to you to organize, develop and implement all print and online marketing efforts in support of the Conferences team. Your ability to effectively target potential audiences as well as capture interest will be critical in helping the division reach its attendance objectives. Additionally, we will expect you to reach out on a grassroots level, gaining the involvement of key community members and organizations in conference marketing efforts.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement a marketing plan for each conference that encompasses outreach via online, print, email, and individuals.
- Provide written concept and content for each conference web site, using the online site as a primary vehicle to drive registrations. Collaborate with others on writing and tasks, as needed.
- Develop print marketing material and dissemination as needed for each conference. Ensure that content is accurate and drives users to register.
- Research and develop relationships with key influencers and groups to gain their involvement in events, both for pre-event promotion and onsite involvement and activities.
- Manage ongoing email blasts to promote event, including list selection and oversight of freelance writers.
- Explore new marketing opportunities, channels, and vehicles.
- Analyze and track results of marketing efforts (i.e. website statistics, customer/registration information, survey data, etc.) to improve effectiveness.
Minimum Requirements
- BA in Marketing or related discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience in marketing management
- Demonstrated ability to write clear and compelling copy on technical subjects
- Knowledge of web and print production process and materials
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Knowledge of the best practices for print and online marketing
- Ability to track results to measure overall marketing effectiveness. Familiarity with website statistics, survey and registration data.
- Familiarity with trends and issues in technology industries, particularly as it relates to programming languages, operating systems, and Internet software
- Familiarity with social networking and other Web 2.0 marketing tools
- Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time, including weekends and holidays
