I just pre-ordered my copy of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. So, I'll be checking to see how freeware and Open Source apps run on it as soon as I receive my shipment and upgrade my MacBook. If you get and install your copy before me, please let me know what your test results are like!

My recommendation is ClamX AV https://clamxav.com It's open source & does a good job. Not many viruses out there for Mac, but if your concerned (Intel Mac more open to viruses???) then check it out.
I have used ClamX AV before, but never had an actual virus on my Mac to test its full capability with.
Todd Ogasawara's Windows for Intel Macs ($7.99USD published by O'Reilly Media) is for Intel Mac users running Bootcamp or Parallels who want to learn more about running Microsoft Windows XP on Mac. It also provides specific tips and hints for using Parallels Desktop for Mac.
