What a great compilation. I was looking to buy DNS & BIND, sendmail, and the sendmail Desktop Reference when I came across this -- All the books I wanted, and then some, for less. The only complaint I have is that I can't read the books from the CD while I'm away from a computer (ie, in the car, or in a comfortable chair with a cold drink). The sendmail Desktop Reference would have been better in printed form; including it with sendmail was rather wasteful, but I can't complain. Keep up the good work!

I've already got the TCP/IP Network Admin, Practical Unix & Internet Security, but I still buy this
CD bookself. It is worth to buy and useful to me. However, if the Sendmail Desktop Reference can
be replaced by VPN, it will be perfect.

I would prefer if the CD contained the following books:
TCP/IP Network Admin
Managing IP Networks
DNS and BIND
Sendmail
Virtual Private Networks
All recent releases.
Better still, if it is possible to order over internet
then why can't customer specify what should be included
in the CD when during the order ?

Finally! I can stop carrying all that paper around.
With the Networking CD Bookshelf, I have access to all
of books I need without having to carry them from site
to site. Plus I can now search for the exact chapter/subject
I need.
Looking forward to the Perl CD Bookshelf...

I had a curiosity about DNS & BIND... and found that curiosity assuaged within the pages of this very comprehensive book. I highly recommend this package. The CD books (in HTML) are very well organized and searchable through a Java applet. It includes pictures of explanations, so it's easy to understand. Quite a bit of info... suitable for the guru apprenticship. I say: get the bookshelf now! And to O'Reilly: make more compilations! Thankee.

This is a great product.
Some people seems to miss this or that, but in my opinion is is a coherent choice you've made.
Don't change it, but give us more offers of this type
Best regards

"All of the books, with the exception of the sendmail Desktop Reference are, in my opinion, extremely useful if you are doing any work in their subject areas. All are written by real experts. Classics or bibles, as you will...A cost and space effective way of having a lot of good networking information available. Very good for looking things up. Not so good for serially reading. Especially in bed. Highly recommended." --Adrian Wontroba, UK Unix Users Group, Jan 2000
"The content is delightfully easy to read." --Eb Guenther, Orange Bytes, Sept 1999
"I've spent some time perusing the Networking CD Bookshelf, and must say I'm quite impressed. Making the content available in an electronic form helps leverage their use as a ready-reference. Calling the DNS and sendmail volumes great books would be redundant, as they have risen to the level of authoritative documentation in the UNIX and network engineering community. Placing this combination of volumes on a single CD creates an invaluable and highly available resource for any networking administrator." --Dan Backman, Network Computing, June 1999
