
Alex is a first-generation immigrant with dual US-UK citizenship. He lives in Belmont, Massachusetts, and is primary caregiver for four children. He has a master’s degree in public policy from UC Berkeley, and 20 years’ experience running nonprofits. He also serves as the elected National Chair of its nationwide coalition Restore The Fourth.

David is an internationally recognized expert in the comparative study of public law and courts, a pioneer in the application of empirical social science methods to the study of legal texts, and one of the most cited law and social science scholars in the country. His scholarship combines qualitative fieldwork on foreign judicial and constitutional systems, quantitative analysis of constitutions and treaties, and regional expertise on Asia. He has taught at UVA, UCSD, UHK, USD and Princeton, and has consulted with the UN on development of constitutions. He has a BA in public policy and an MA and Ph.D. in political science from Stanford, a JD from Harvard, and a BCL from Oxford. He is a native speaker of Mandarin, and a US and Canadian citizen.

Catherine is the Sloan Distinguished Professor of Management Science and Professor of Marketing at MIT Sloan. Her research interests lie in how technology allows firms to use digital data to improve their operations and marketing and in the challenges this poses for regulations designed to promote innovation. She has particular expertise in online advertising, digital health, social media and electronic privacy. Generally, most of her research lies in the interface between Marketing, Economics and Law. She has received an NSF CAREER award for her work on digital privacy and a Garfield Award for her work on electronic medical records. She is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. She holds a Ph.D in Economics from Stanford University, and a BA from Oxford University.
