Bio
I’m Kausar Alam, a WordPress developer and technical support specialist with nearly a decade of experience building, troubleshooting, and optimizing WordPress websites.
My journey with WordPress started back in 2014 when I began working as a freelance developer on Upwork (formerly oDesk). Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work with clients worldwide, creating customized web solutions tailored to their needs. In 2018, I joined Sweetgrass Marketing LLC, where I spent four years refining my development skills and contributing to a wide range of successful web projects.
In 2021, I moved into a dedicated technical support role at DBL07, a company based in Columbia, USA. There, I focused on solving complex WordPress issues, helping clients troubleshoot their websites, and making sure their sites ran smoothly.
Later, I joined Elegant Themes as a Technical Support Specialist. During my time there, I worked closely with customers to troubleshoot Divi and other products, diagnose compatibility issues, and provide solutions to help users get the most out of their websites. It was a great opportunity to deepen my technical knowledge and improve my ability to communicate effectively with WordPress users from all backgrounds.
Most recently, I joined Automattic as a Happiness Contractor, where I support WordPress.com customers and help them navigate the platform with confidence.
Beyond my day-to-day work, I’m an active contributor to the WordPress community. I’m a plugin author, translator, and Core contributor, and I’ve been involved in several WordCamps. I’ve proudly served as a Table Lead at WordCamp Malaysia and as part of the organizing team for WordCamp Dhaka 2025.
With a solid technical foundation, strong problem-solving skills, and a real passion for helping people, I’m always excited to keep learning and take on new challenges in the WordPress ecosystem.
WordPress Origin Story
My cousin, Yousuf Sultan, introduced me to WordPress, and he has been working as a Senior WordPress Developer since 2011. I started learning about WordPress from different sources, such as Google, YouTube videos, and the WordPress Community. Although I am still discovering new things about WordPress, I continue learning through resources like WordPress.org, Google, and YouTube.
