Meeting Note Takers

Looking for feedback

The content translation process in the Training Team could use some improvement. Currently, our lessons rely on transcripts as their main written content. However, these machine-generated transcripts are often difficult to understand. We originally included them to ensure there was at least some content alongside the video, which could then be translated into different languages.

Looking for volunteers

Several courses are listed in the WordPress Credit course, so we’ve decided to review them thoroughly. Our goal is to catch and fix any misspellings, typos, broken links, or outdated information.

Update for last weeks triage squad

No meeting last week.

Meeting Note Takers

Here is our current note-taker roster:

Looking for feedback

  • We’ve had a lot of discussions around the certification process, but now it’s time to move things forward. We’re considering issuing certificates specifically for course cohort students. Unlike automated course completion certificates which can sometimes be misused cohorts are different. In a cohort, students must actively participate in regular classes, complete assessments, and pass an exam before earning a certificate.
    • We’d love your feedback to refine this process and move ahead. You can find more details here: #3247

Looking for volunteers

  • We’re planning to organize local workshops to make the sessions more engaging and inspiring. Whether you’re a first-time speaker or an experienced presenter, if you feel confident covering a WordPress-related topic, you’re welcome to participate. You can also choose to co-host a workshop by teaming up with someone who already has speaking experience at different events.

Looking for feedback

Proposal for Certification process – We’ve kicked off an engaging discussion about Certification, whether it’s needed, and how it could be integrated into the current Learn WordPress workflow. You’re welcome to join the conversation and help shape the future of WordPress Learn – Feedback – plans to offer verifiable certifications upon course completion #3247

Looking for volunteers

We’ve made significant progress on the thumbnail generator project, with most thumbnails successfully updated. However, a few content thumbnails still use outdated designs or don’t comply with our thumbnail generator guidelines. If you’re interested in volunteering for this task, simply leave a comment, and we’ll provide the necessary instructions to get started.

We need help from contributors, they will just visit all the learn WordPress posts and list the URLURL A specific web address of a website or web page on the Internet, such as a website’s URL www.wordpress.org of the lesson where the thumbnails need to be redesigned. We can guide them, but we need some interested persons.

Update for last weeks triage squad

No meeting last week.

Other news

The course WordPress BlockBlock Block is the abstract term used to describe units of markup that, composed together, form the content or layout of a webpage using the WordPress editor. The idea combines concepts of what in the past may have achieved with shortcodes, custom HTML, and embed discovery into a single consistent API and user experience. Editor Basics has started, and it will continue for the next 5 to 7 weeks.

    • @piyopiyofox said that she had two things she wanted to bring up:
      • She had mentioned the upcoming course cohort in the Monthly Education Buzz Report for July 2025, and added that if there were any other educational initiatives the Training Team was working on — such as a new course cohort, new learning pathways, or tutorials — she would like to be informed so she could include them in the next edition.
      • She asked if the Training team would be open for sharing space at the table with her and @peiraisotta to talk about WordPress Campus Connect and WordPress Credits, if folks ask about it? Mostly informational.
